Doesn't work on any website.
It's a scam
don't work for me
it does not even block youtube
Simply doesn't work. I can't block sites because I don't see it as a right click option. And I can't add htem to my list because there's no way to press "enter". Doesn't work upon restart either. Booooo.
Does not work. Don't bother.
doesnt block twitter. what else is this for.
Just installed and wanted to try the free version. It would only let me block 2 websites and then prompted me to pay for an upgrade. I uninstalled. To make things worse I was forced into a survey about why I uninstalled. Then they tried to offer me a lower price, which was super annoying and felt like a shady used car deal.
Stopped working after a day. Tried it on a couple of sites and it didn’t work at all. I’ve switched to TimeBuddy, which offers way more features and actually works as expected.
not happy
Doesnt block the URL Path, only the URL Domain. Not able to block specific subreddit/urls. It blocks ALL of reddit :(
It doesn't work :((
doesn't work
it just flat out doesnt work
useless, didn't work at all
Just tried it with x.com - didn't work
It's Dead. Dead Extension Should Be Doesn't Exist.
doesnt work
I tried two sites. Did not work for either.
Doesn't block youtube
stopped working after 1 day...
Absolute rubbish, could not stop a wet Fart!
Does not work. Only blocks whole domains, not specific pages.
Cannot export settings
Doesn't work, won't block malicious domains like *.xyz. Other times, it won't let you add a domain or ulr. It looks to be deprecated. Useless.
It doens't work at all. I have done everything shown in the video, however didn't get any results. weird
domain
Not very helpful! You block one website, next time the same site open again just to tell you that you have already blocked it. What should that bring me? Either you block sides or not but what Block Site do is just annoying! Another thing is, if you block one site, Site Block will force 100 other spam sites for you instead of the one you already blocked.
One reviewer best said it this app does indeed stop working after a month. I'll see if this repeats and remove it or if they they update it I'll update this review to reflect the changes. EDIT: YES it still stops working, after a month or a little over 30 days.
Installed this thing, and when I go to a site it doesn't just say blocked. An annoying popup comes up in the bottom right telling me that it was blocked and stays there for a while. No option to disable that stupid popup thing. I now see there is a way to stop that "desktop notification. Problem number 2 is there is no clear wildcard option, So you have to add www.youtube.com as well as youtube.com If you try * it converts it to %2F it thinks you mean a literal star.
used to work . now litter ally does nothing
No easy to way to block sites! Which is exactly what was promised. Awful.
DOES NOTHING: waste of space
Doesn´t work.
Exactly what I was looking for. I have used other site blockers to prevent distraction when a site opens automatically in chrome. But them all will open their own page notifying that the site was blocked voiding my purpose of using the blocker in first place. I hope publishers of this extn will read this review & avoid bringing such *notice* page with this extn. Update: Changing from 5 star to 1 star. I just noticed that this extn is not any different than all other extensions.
So hard to use. And why is there no way to block all websites containing a term? So if I choose to block all sites containing "google.com", such as "support.google.com", "docs.google.com", there is no way to do that?
Only blocks URLs that you put into URL bar, not links that you click in the browser.. for example it opened reddit from google, it opened it like it wasn't blocked (but it was) and it only blocked it properly when I refreshed the website.. so that's really critical bug that ruins whole purpose of the extension..
It's good at blocking entire domains, but if you want to block access to a specific page or subdomain - say 'website.web/block-worthy', but you still want access to 'website.web/good-content', you can't - and you lose all access to 'website.web', for example. It's very frustrating that there seems to be no way to do this!
love it
Is not really useful without a password. I blocked Youtube, and then my son unblocks the web and use it. Then, he blocks it again for when I use his computer.
Missing possibility for exporting and importing lists. No function for adding a list of blocked sites, which makes it hard to synchronize the add-on between different computers.
The extension is great, but I really miss two things: * the ability to use regular expressions. Due to the limitations of wildcard matching, subdomains require a separate entry, `*://*.example.com/*`, which is inconvenient; * the ability to import/export rules to a text file. I really don't want to lose everything because of a browser bug.
Seems to work well for most sites, but some sites (youtube.com) for example don't get blocked.
I wish I could block a subpath of a site. E.g. be able to block certain reddit content, but not the all. reddit.com/r/IWantToBlockThis
It will be better to have temporarily off option.
Blocking youtube doesn't work?!?
can't block specific domain, can only block full domain.
Works, but, annoyingly opens a new tab for the blocked site with no content (why open the tab at all? if that's a Chrome issue, then can't it be closed by this app?). It also pops-up a small, but, annoying, "site blocked" message, which disappears after a few seconds (it's pretty obvious with the blank tab/page! Why not display "page blocked by Block Site" inside the blank tab/page?). Now, that pop-up can be turned off with Block Site's options, but, I'm pointing out that it's a little overboard; make it smaller with the name of the site in red followed by the word blocked or an international "stop/no" sign. However, the app does what it's supposed to do, so, it's "okay." Also, the user can manually enter a domain name (any subdomains and subpages are ignored), which is nice, especially if you know there's a dangerous or annoying page, and don't want to go to it to tell Block Site to block it.
