Description

IE Tab exactly emulates Internet Explorer, and enables you to load your web pages with different versions of IE (IE7 - IE11) FULLY SUPPORTED IN WINDOWS 11 AND AFTER INTERNET EXPLORER IS REMOVED IN FEBRUARY 2023. Please note that IE Tab for Windows does require the use of a separate executable, ietabhelper.exe. You can read more about that in the FAQ below. -- FEATURES -- * Create a list of URLs that will automatically open in IE Tab * Group Policy support for enterprise deployments * Securely use the old IE rendering engine * Edit Sharepoint documents instead of opening read-only * Use Java, Silverlight, and ActiveX in Chrome seamlessly -- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS -- 1. Why do I have to install ietabhelper.exe? IE Tab uses the Internet Explorer rendering engine. This rendering engine can't be directly accessed from a Chrome extension, so we need a helper process to communicate between the Chrome extension and the rendering engine. 2. Did IE Tab always require this extra program? No. Chrome used to support a technology called NPAPI (the Netscape Plugin API) which allowed extensions to access local computer resources. IE Tab used to use that functionality to access the Internet Explorer rendering engine. But Chrome removed NPAPI support, so we were forced to implement a new solution, and that solution requires a separate helper executable. From a technical standpoint, the only real change is that our code moved from an NPAPI .DLL file to a helper .EXE file. 3. Is the IE Tab Helper application safe? Absolutely! IE Tab has always used native code, and we have always treated the security of our 2+ million users very seriously. So you can rest assured that this helper executable is secure and trustworthy. 4. I'm an enterprise customer, how do I deploy the IE Tab Helper automatically? We have enterprise deployment options, please contact us at support@ietab.net for details. The Privacy Policy for the IE Tab extension can be found here: http://www.ietab.net/privacy-policy

From $19 to $39 in less than a year. They think they're Google? LOL Skip IE Tab use Microsoft Edge's “IE mode” (built-in): 1.)Open Microsoft Edge. 2.)Go to Settings > Default browser. 3.)Turn on Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode. 4.)Restart Edge. 5.)Go to the legacy site. 6.)Click the … (three dots) menu > Reload in Internet Explorer mode. 7.)If you need it to always open in IE mode: … > Settings > Default browser > Internet Explorer mode pages > Add the site URL. Works great and you don’t need any third-party extension anymore.

Not worth paying. Just use Edge browser with "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode)" set to allowed in settings.

If you're looking for an alternative to IE Tab in Google Chrome (to render web pages that require Internet Explorer's engine), use Microsoft Edge (IE Mode) How to Use IE Mode in Microsoft Edge: Open Microsoft Edge. Go to Settings > Default browser. Enable Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode. Reload any website and right-click to choose in the menu choose Reload in Internet Explorer mode, or set specific sites to always open in IE mode. Thanks me later

Used this for a few years. Chrome says this extension was "corrupted" , so clicked on repair. Now this wants money. Will go with another extension.

Doesn't work unless you pay an annual fee that isn't mentioned on the overview.

Not specifying on the extension page that it is paid is misleading.

Started to charge for basic use, should have added more functinality and paygated that instead, will switch over to Edge for activeX.

Used to be the best, now they want subscriptions and its slow, plus it now requires extra downloads and permissions. There are plenty of secure options for free. Skip this.

Did not work with running JRE within IE tab for some older legacy management pages for iot devices onsite. To add to that, you're charging a yearly subscription for this? Lots of free versions, plus I'll go open edge and use IE Compatibility mode instead and save the $$. Way too much sorry guys.

It was really handy for viewing my home cctv cameras and had used it for years. I have now gotten a message that my "2 week trial" is up and they want to charge me $20 for a yearly licence! Not happy at all and would not be worth the money.

This was excellent extension for a long time, and it offered free mode and paid mode that had additional features needed only for professional use. As I used it for personal use, free mode was really great for me. But since Microsoft removed Internet Explorer, looks like extension developers got greedy and removed the free mode. Maybe it is their right, but it is not a nice thing to do and it caused me to lose all trust in them. No trust means not using the software anymore, even if I really needed it and could afford the subscription payment. But actually this is not needed. There are multiple ways to use IE mode without using third-party extensions. For now it is still possible to open Internet Explorer on Windows 10 and 11 if you know how (Google is your friend). You can run Windows 7 or older in a VM if you really want. And at our work, where we have to manage it using GPO and make it easy for regular users to open special sites, there is IE Mode in Edge, that isn't too easy to configure in the right way, but once you figure out how to do it, it works quite nicely for the whole organization. Of course IE Mode in Edge is also available for home user, so no real reason to pay money for software IF you don't trust the developers.

Funny how this extension used to be free prior to support for IE dropped. Shameless money grab.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY PER MONTH. This is NOT free and should be removed from the chromestore for being sneaking!

Works but have suddenly started charging $19 annually. This is not made clear in the chrome store listing. Use the IE mode in edge instead.

Worked with no issues on my old computer and now on my new computer, keeps saying it is a two week trial and requires a paid subscription after that.
