the app use manipulative techniques to collect users personal data. the whole process is just asking to drive permission with accessing your personal info, email addresses and everything else. the next step is to take more information and some more. just revoked my permission from google. its a big red flag.

this sucks

This used to work fine before. But over the past year, on two different paid accounts, and on two different machines and two different operating systems (Mac and Windows) I have been getting the following error after recording a video. --- Oops, something went wrong. Please contact our support team Error code: SC-2 --- Contacting support doesn't help.

never used. asked for sign in and bye bye garbage.

I have used this platform since 2018 or 2019 and it was amazing. Earlier in the year I started having an issue SC2 error, but dealt with it. In June I reached out to the company the said they would fix it, but in the meantime [as I must have been on an old pricing model due to having the product so long] they increased the fees, limited my features and still continue to have the issue. I have the same sentiments as the folks below - this product used to be amazing, but I wouldn't recommend anyone else subjecting themselves to the product at this point. Not worth the headaches. delayed work and ultimately, time spent trying to help them sort out the problems.

It used to be good, but got very glitchy: constantly disappears from the bar, freezes on recordings, and a very important recording I was making was not even saved. Big dissapointmet

It used to be quite cool, but now its super buggy and it doesn't even work. Had to record my videos 3 times until i realize it just doesn't work anymore. Also, please fix your "/signin?forceConsent=true", its driving me insane. I was already logged in and it was still triggering a new tab. Hope you make a great comeback Screencastify, you used to be cool...

laggy as hell mic never ever picks up

it worked when i used previously but cannot record anything today and at $15 dollar a month i expect more support this is expensive and useless .

Overengineered garbabe now, microphone recording never works

For some reason, Screencastify will not pick up my webcam so I can record. It works fine if I use Bing.

I had bought a "lifetime" subscription of this extension. Just guess what! They just cancelled it! And as I dared to have more than 10 recordings (with a paid product), I'm no longer able to record anything! So, imagine they dare to ask me to pay again, after I had paid expensively a "lifetime" license! I strongly recommend to avoid this tool and this company. As info: Windows has an onboard screen recording for free! "win+alt+R"

It wont let you record without signin

Before you buy this, here is the reason I will never use this app again. Ive been using this for the last few years, always been good. Easy to record, easy share with people, for the amount of time i use it, which is minimal, it does the job. But now, they have done a Netflix and amazon number on the app, whereby you start paying for a service and then they remove features that were included with your original signup. The biggest and the only reason I got this paid version was to share my videos with people. NOW, it only allows you to share within your own domain, so you cant share it with people outside your network. Truly a dog move, and for that reason, they wont see another penny from me. If you are a loyal dog like me and you been given a bone, now they take it away, you will do the same.

i would've liked to know that i was gonna be forced to create an account on god knows what site to use this extension... no, i don't want to see what other people are recording on their screens and i most definitely don't want them to see my recordings. record, crop, save on desktop, done, was that too much to ask?

Can't even download or share my video for my assignment.

I'm sorry, this is one of the most disgusting experiences I've had. Im ready to put my face through the computer screen to try and find the minimized tray that allows me to do what, IDK. This freemium software is junk. Period. I legit hate this, and how it makes me feel so bad that I can't help but post this publicly. I dont have anywhere near enough time to browse the help libraries wherever they are, to try and find a solution to my issue.

Forcing me to leave a review to get out of the tool. Super annoying.

Why is your app showing up on every webpage all of a sudden? Uninstalling.

Not happy about the permanent overlay icon. I'll be removing this extension until that is fixed.

The permanent overlay/icon showing up on each tab is highly irritating and intrusive. It's very distracting and not worth the app. I would much rather use Scribe any day. If it weren't managed by my organization, I would immediately delete it because of that permanent overlay/icon.

Used to be able to let me save videos to drive, allow me to change it to mp3 format, and even save a large amount at a time. Now...I can't even save anything to drive. The app was much better in 2022.

Dosnt Work, Wont Upload into google drive. i wasnt expecting much anyway.

Forcing me to write a review when I needed a video in a hurry was a BiG shame. You should have a way out of that screen. I loved your service and have for the 4 years I subscribed and upgraded. Not so sure now. Really bad form.

They discontinued my lifetime paid account asked me to move to subscription account. They are Fraudsters. Be careful.
