If I could chose 0 star I would WHY would we add this when we already have windows protection service for free and if we don't have it use a dam VPN
I guess it worked fine, until it didn't. Now it's flagging my AOL inbox repeatedly, closing the site and presenting a great big red warning. I have to keep going down to the bottom of the alert and select "Continue Anyway (not recommended)" Problem is, it's loaded by policy onto a work laptop and I can't switch it off or disable it. Big PITA right now.
This BS installed itself without notifying me. I didn’t find out until my chrome was very slow, so I investigate, but it still can’t be deleted.
I didn't even know that I had this extension installed til I had a problem with it. I can't open ANY SINGLE web...All of the sudden, all of them are reported as unsafe. That can not be possible... I can't neither swicth it off or delete it. Result: I can't navigate at all using google chrome. If I use a different browser then I can. Obviously is not a problem of the website visited, but the extension.
I CANT EVEN GO ON PINTREST ON MY SCHOOL LAPTOP
I'm removing your extension effective immediately. Leave it to Microsoft to remove something from the most popular browser to make it exclusive to their browser to try to increase market share and make you a product.. I've seen this story regarding Microsoft played out for decades and they still haven't changed. I will never use Edge and this just hardened my resolve. If I were allowed negative 5 stars, you earned it. Oh well, thanks for gift wrapping me and sending me to Brave.
This extension told me to install Microsoft Edge.
It's currently false flagging mass amounts of genuine websites as dangerous. I've had reddit, intel and Australian Government Websites all false flagged as dangerous. Extension is currently completely useless till they fix it.
Broken, showing all web pages as threats.
Has broken, getting errors on every page I try.
Actual garbage. 100% complete garbage
It's gone mad with power. Blocked substrate.microsoft.com and login.okta.com...
This extension just caused a major outage for the company I administrate, by falsely deciding to block a number of sites we use. If you're an organisation using Chrome, my suggestion is to just enforce Google SafeBrowsing by policy and then deploy a DNS-based tool like Cloudflare Gateway or Cisco Umbrella instead of using this extension. It'll save you from Microsoft taking your business offline.
Can somebody please tell me how to disable this thing on my school computer? That would be amazing.
I had a brain fart when I installed this extension then removed it after realizing MSFT has a horrible decades long record of preventing any kind of virus.
Looking at the browser's task manager, memory usage is low immediately after startup, but more than doubles after half a day of use. I have a feeling this is a problem with the extension, because there are extensions that do not increase memory usage.
bro it so bad it doesnt even work i tryed microsofts OWN TEST WEBSITES and yet it just lets me go to it even if i refresh the tab it doesnt dont waste ur time this is garbage
i hate this and i know that my school added this but when the year was over they told evryone to have their parrents to delet it but it would not go and my administrater triede tto help but she could not pls help just delet this app cuz if i dont the school said that my mom will have to pay and she does not have any money!!!!
I'm only rating it 1 star so Support notices the issue. The extension does not work in the latest Brave, v0.55.22 Chromium: 70.0.3538.77 Stable, x64 version. Nothing gets intercepted or blocked, meanwhile the same URL does in any other Chromium based browser.
It appeared on my browser without my permission. I am trying to get rid of it but can't find a way to uninstall.
Pointless. School force installed it, and it is redundant. Google Safe Browsing exists for a reason. Do not install.
The privacy statement is ludicrous
This uploads the hashes of all the pages you visit!
My school installed this despite having Chromebooks. It's useless.
Doesn't work on ChromeOS v.65.0.3325.209 (Official Build) (64-bit) as of 04/18/2018 7:30pm.
Does not work on Linux.
Doesn't work on Chrome OS. Well, you don't need a Microsoft tool for your Chromebook.
Didn't actually even stop their "demo" page so its not clear it would stop an actual malicious site
Giving it two because I have no clue what it does. Never seen it do or alert or notify about anything, though I've had it installed since it became available. Perhaps it is worth five stars, but in that case it should sometime tell me the awesome ways it has protected me with.
i can't verify that this is from microsoft. the webpage has a certificate issued from microsoft, but doesn't say microsoft owns the webpage. the chrome store doesn't actually say the developer is microsoft, it just links to microsoft's privacy policy. virus total has a low community trust of the webpage associated with this extension. confusing.
Doesnt work on Chrome on Linux
Great concept, but buggy: -can not detect phishing site myetherwaller.com on chrome windows -seems to block this site on mac chrome, but does not put up red screen, instead just a generic browser message that site has been blocked by an extension
It's a good idea, but it doesn't work on my Samsung Chromebook Plus
working on Windows Chrome but not on chromebook. Getting the "this extension may have been corrupted" error and repair is not working.
Blacklists some webpages i'm self-hosting in the cloud. Not sure why, pretty sure my pages are safe :) Would be nice to whitelist these manually on a local whitelist or something.
didn't protect me against all phishing website
Is this extension only for U.S users ? I'm based in Europe !
Hello, we are a corporate Office 365 E3 customer and I am considering forcing this extension on my 700 user's Chrome browsers. We are based in South Africa. The issue is your Chrome Web Store description for this extension says "Currently supported region(s): United States". What does this "supported region" actually mean? Does it mean that only US English sites are supported, are only US-hosted websites supported, are only users coming from US-based IP addresses supported? Unfortunately "Currently supported region(s): United States" is very confusing and non-descript - can you please update the description to make it clear & meaningful?
Hello, I would like to see this extension improve to become equal to or surpass the protection available in Microsoft Edge and some other products that outperform even Microsoft Edge. There is a thread at the MalwareTips Forums called, [Updated 25/7/2018] Browser extension comparison: Malwares and Phishings, where some issues with this extension have been noticed like: This extension requires a recovery time between detecting links if you try to throw more than one link at it, its detection is always worse than Microsoft Edge's by a somewhat large amount and there are several other products that usually perform better, in incognito mode the block page does not seem to work, there is possibly not a section in the privacy policy about this extension, there is not much documentation for this extension, this extension lacks a section in the forums or a support section here and emails to the support email address are possibly not replied to, on one of Microsoft's test pages this extension fails to block some of the test links / files, and so it would be nice for the developers to follow that MalwareTips thread and address these issues. I would like to also suggest adding the ability to report websites and other issues through the extension itself, maybe add ratings for search results (web, image, video, et cetera), maybe consider adding an adblocking option (like maybe forking uBlock Origin into this extension or just add some adblocking list options), add the option for automatic submission of suspicious and unknown websites et cetera, and improve malware / grayware / et cetera detection to match or surpass some of the products tested in that MalwareTips thread. This extension has potential so I hope to see it improve, thank you, and keep up the good work. -John Jr
It even flags the official privateemail url I use for my business... Might as well block access to entire internet for not using outlook, because why not?
I've installed it on Chrome running on Linux Mint(v18.3 Sylvia), and appears to work,, but hard to know what it is doing, if anything.. Not sure if there is website url to test this is working or not?
Good idea
there is no possibility to add a site to the whitelist, the lock is turned on every time I go to the site I need
It works pretty good on Windows machines. On Chromebooks it states that this extension may have been corrupted. Please fix!
Good it protects me from auto downloading malwaere and removes the pop ups from websites
It works with Opera on Macs but doesn't work on Chrome for Mac how ironic! I didn't expect it to work on Mac at all but I gave it a try. This is why I love Opera because I can use any Chrome Extension. It also works with Vivaldi.
This should be clear that it is for Chrome running on Windows only.
