This addon opens a new tab with url joycast.ai when installed (or updated I guess)

I'd give ZERO stars if I could. Invasive, deceitful extension that opens up tabs that advertise for their other plug-ins. Shady marketing by shady people.

Used to work well. Switched browsers, installs fine, but 'authorize Button for Google Calendar' goes nowhere! Just sits there, as though something is supposed to open to accept permissions, but nothing opens! Clicked "Need Help",messaged the developer, got no response. Do not waste your time!

And BrowseCraft doesn't respond to THIS...Hmmm AUTHORIZING… Need help? *** THIS DOES NOT AUTHORIZE ON MICROSOFT EDGE, when I tried Chrome the authorization works... That's why most people love it and the rest insist it doesn't work :(

Kinda ugly and clunky but did the job (barely). However, I immediately uninstalled after randomly popping up ads (multiple at once) for Manganum. Not okay, that kind of behaviour rings all kinds of alarm bells for being scammy and potentially malware. Your repeated excuse of "well nobody uses them when they're installed so there's no other way to get people to see it." isn't a good one, nor does it make what you do any more appropriate. All it does is demonstrate that you don't actually care about either the opinions of your users, nor do you apparently give much of a damn about the reputation of your brand, because now you only have to google "Manganum" and your awful ad popup choices are the first things that are displayed.

Worked great but once the ad on the quick view and the opening a tab unrequested started it's been a real nuisance. I thought Manganum was some sort of malware the first time it happened, and I'm still convinced it might be.

Finally found the source of the full page ad. Removed! Glad I did as it made me find an even better alternative.

The author engages in user-hostile behavior, opening a new tab as an ad to his other extension, without no indication that this extension did it. This is made exponentially worse by the fact that many users installed this extension after another extension with a very similar interface was discontinued and pointed users to install this one instead as a reasonable replacement. To the author: We don't care about your new extension. Arguably, your new extension is a misdirection on your part. Users that need more calendar features go to the official google calendar page. An extension is supposed to serve as a simple and quick lookup widget. Your new app reimplements the google calendar page. Nobody needs that.

I enjoyed it until the advertisement started popping up on my computers. Took me a while to figure out where that tab was coming from. Who knows what other adware this extension will introduce. Installing.

Loved this until it started giving pop-ups. Please stop those and remove the advertisement and I'd be glad to change my review to 5 stars.

Nice banner advertising your own product over someone else's code.

How long until "Try our new calendar for Chrome. Install for free." going to be hogging the app space. It's been at least 5 months since developer said they'll take it down soon.

Great app but for some reason the developer had the brilliant idea to update us about their new calendar system and do not let you remove the notification. I have seen that you have a new, now let me remove this notification. There is no way that arassing people would let them turn into a new software developed by you, but only piss them off to search for alternatives. Edit: The developer NOT ONLY added a permanent banner that is NOT an announcement, is a ADV. Now the extension even open a chrome page randomly to show you the other service they offer. I would like to know how in the world you could think that keep spamming me some stupid service I DO NOT WANT should convert me to use that garbage. Do you think that if you keep arassing me about it I will use it? Terrible, app find alternatives, they are doing more and more every time.

I don't like writing bad reviews, especially for apps I haven't really tried :( But I can't even get this to work. It's stuck on "Authorizing..." and there's no support to contact to help fix this problem. Sorry for the one star review. I'm publishing it in the hopes you'll help me fix this and use the extension. It looks really cool

Please remove the link to Manganum and make the design in the spirit of Material Design 3, I'm even willing to pay for this extension. I definitely don’t need Manganum, I just need to understand what I will have in a week, your extension does a great job with this.

No notifications. Mac Ventura, latest Chrome. That's the main reason I wanted this so it's not useful if that doesn't work. :-/

Used this for years but finally uninstalled to get rid of the new page opening. I read other reviews and the developer's responses but I still think opening a whole new page is intrusive. It was difficult to figure out which app did it and in the beginning I was getting this popup at least once a week. It's annoying. I don't need the features in Magnum, I actually tried it for a day and its way more than I want or need. If you gave users the ability opt out of these popups I would have kept the extension installed. You were right that some users weren't using it, I had not used it in months, and seeing this ad again made me make the decision to uninstall. It's great that the developers are working on something new that they are very proud of but this pushy style of advertisement is not the way to go, especially considering it never ends. Spacing it out isn't enough, if any other extension advertised their product this way they would be met with the same backlash. In many cases, this behavior from the extension or app would interpreted as a form of malware. I really hope the developers consider changing their advertising approach and find a way to show off their new project without being so disruptive. At the very least the ability to opt out would have satisfied many upset (former) users. If a user has the seen the ad three times and still didn't install it, it should be safe to assume they don't want it.

Good idea but when I install it, it will only show 2 holidays and nothing else that I have on my calendar. I even created an event on the same day as the holiday it was showing. There are no real options in the settings to tell it what to display or how far to go out.

you automatically open tabs to advertise your other products, but this is a scary behavior, you have to come up with a better way. I have uninstalled it.

do you guys ever plan to make it work on microsoft edge? because i really don't want to download chrome for this

pls fix the extension in Brave browser, I can't authorize it, it just keep loading

There is a huge flaw. It does not show tasks and reminders. Also, as a 'replica' of the old extension, it should have the option to quick add an event.

It'd be a great extension if it didn't have to be "re-authorized" each time the browser is opened up.

I downloaded this because it was supposed to be a replica of the other Google Calendar extension (that was getting unpublished). Unfortunately, it isnt the same. The main thing I use is the ability to create events quickly by simply typing it in a textbox so you dont have to faff around with different fields. This extension doesnt do any of that. It's good for viewing your upcoming calendar events only.

App works but its opening tabs for 3rd party software Manganum. This is concerning and invasive.

Its okay and does what it should. But there is ONE anoying thing. I absolutely hate it when a extension/plugin/addon loads an extra tab without asking. It even does that when the proxy/network settings prevent to load that URL.

Really good extension, if only it didn't open ads in new tabs for their other extension. Removed it because I was tired of this :/

Having a very difficult time pinning this app to my taskbar. When I do, I get some other app and then a 'security warning'. (It tells me to go to the App Store and download the app - which I have already done so. Seems to be in circles???) I want Google Calendar as my main calendar since my MS calendar ALWAYS disappears when a download/fix is added by MS. Anyway, I would like to have a 'button' which I can click up, see my calendar as well as get reminders. Please help. Thank you.

Used to love this extension but as of last week, I no longer get notifications, which makes it really useless.

I used this for a few months, but for some reason it stopped working (12 June 2023), and I get an Error 400: unsupported_response_type when trying to authorize it. I'd go back to 5* in a second if the app works again

It was fine until you decided to advertise another plugin by popping up another tab. I didn't mind it when it was just a note when you click the button but this is ridiculous. Removing, will find another plugin.

Where is the "quickadd" feature that was supported by the original extension? Why would that feature be removed? It's the main feature of the calendar button that I use!
