It's flashy with a dashboard that looks impressive, however, it doesn't do much. When I looked at what's blocked after installing this extension, it showed a generic listing of stuff it supposedly blocks but there isn't any specific listing for that website. Nice interface, but it's useless.
The extension failed to load properly. It might not be able to intercept network requests. This is the notification that appeared after I installed this extension. and what I noticed is that it is of monstrous size: 278 MB!!!
Used to work fine in the past, but recently added forced blocking of all links that open a new tab, and I cannot turn it off, it broke so many sites that it is not practical to use this extension anymore. I also found no way to report a bug, so I only can leave negative review. I can consider reinstalling the extension if they remove "popup" blocking or at least make it optional. Currently any link that opens a new tab counted as a "popup", so not just actual popups are blocked, but everything that tries to open a new tab - this makes no sense. I think by default this either should be disabled or only block popups based on blacklist of known bad domains, but not everything. And definitely not forced on me without an option to disable.
This used to be great ngl but rn I'm getting redirected all over the place. All good things must come to an end as they say
20.0.1 update broke this god tier extension.....rip!
doesn't work on twitch
Facebook site video ads aren't blocked
It does what it's supposed to as far as blocking but it also does something that I HATE and can't find a way to disable. It suddenly blocks ALL links opening in new tabs, whether they're listed in a a filter or not. I have search results set to open in new background tabs. This now fails and instead this stupid extension opens a dialog to allow or block. THIS SUCKS. It's STUPID and it NEEDS TO GO AWAY. Whoever thought this was a good idea is a flipping MORON.
blocks my newspaper subscription
doesn't work on: https://tvtropes.org/
Like many of us, I'm here because my Ad Block Origin was 'fired' (Lol...my word Not theirs!) by the Google Gods! *(you may now insert my Big sigh of sadness! :) I'm 'Reviewing' the extension because my firewall has never taken an instant dislike to any extension before now...Lol...so, I mulled it over briefly, & I've decided to uninstall. Here's my reason: the "Genius PRO: Ad Blocker + Total Web Security"extension is not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing guidelines...(Lol...HOW the f#(& does that even work!?)π€ baffling, as "...Total Web Security" is in their extension's NAME for pete's sake! ππ€£π No, my trusty firewall suggested I suggest to, "Genius PRO" they should update their legitimacy & adjust the beginning of "Genius PRO's" extension address, IE address does NOT begin w/ "HTTPS://", which I'm guessing, for security is a no-no. (Lol...Doubt the company's unaware! But, I cannot (in good conscience) suggest to others an 'Ad Blocker + Total Web Security' extension that's unacceptable to the most very basic of firewalls.)
I guess it still works, but now im not able to make new tabs with 3rd mouse click, and i use that all the time so that's very unfortunate. Happened 10. dec. 2024
Currently it's alright. Majority of its functions aren't working as MV2 in chrome is deprecated. Hopefully, they figure out MV3 soon. Till then, it's not very efficient in blocking popups.
Good when it works. I some sites it takes away functionality and I have to switch it off and use another ad blocker. I like that the switch off (whitelist) option is there upfront unlike others, wish I had an option to keep functionality of pages without having to whiitelist. It also gets detected more often than not. But, is good when it works (did I say that already?).
it only blocked ads on some sites the only reason im giving this three star, is because it claimed to stop ads on all websites.
