Dropbox either does not show up in the Files app in Chrome or it shows up and doesn't expand to show contents. Either way, it's a HUGE FAIL.
I cancel my trial service a week before it expired and was still charged $180 with NOT WAY TO CONTACT YOUR COMPANY. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CONTACT DROPBOX?????
Bewty App, plop, plop, fizzzzzzz
It's just a link to the website, not an 'app'.
Nope. As other reviewers have said, this is just a link to the Dropbox website--to be more specific, a Dropbox bookmark on your Chrome Apps page. There's a reason that this extension's preview images are all of Dropbox.com rather than the extension itself: there's nothing else to show.
App? It's only link to website....
Err, why do you need a chrome app to take you to a webpage. That's all this app does, it provides no integration with the desktop or any of the things you'd actually want to use.
This Chrome Web Store extension reminds me of "apps" for my Blackberry 20 years ago. It seems like nothing more than a bookmark The Dropbox Play Store App looks like it works, but doesn't. Do I have to download a program from a Japanese developer to get the integration that I have loved about Dropbox since they started?
losses connection when connected, losses progress every time.
Just the link to Dropbox. No offline functioning. Disappointing.
Just a link to the website. On ChromeOs, I expected integration with the file system.
Chrome app? Pointless. It requires you to go to your Chrome app page to open it. If you're a noob, it's better to just install the integrated Desktop folder, from the Dropbox website. If you know how to use a basic web browser, you could just type in the web address. If you're an intermediate user, you could just create your own HTML file on your desktop, theme it, put a Dropbox app wherever you want, and link it to the Dropbox website. <-- That would allow you to add whatever else you wanted, too.
i dont like it that much
Seems like 99% of these reviews are rating Dropbox as a service and not this particular app. I expected some sort of integration, but it just provides you a link to the website. No different from bookmark on the bookmark bar.
Just a link. I'm not sure why people are using this "app" to review DropBox, which is decent service, but the actual "app" that you install here is useless and misleading.
Simply a link... I wanted the ability to save save pdf's to dropbox or images.
just a link...could have done this myself...stupid
does not work on chromebook.hate it
links to the website and does nothing else 0/10
I love my chromebook, but I have no idea what all the jargon and installation stuff is, don't care. If its not in a couple of clicks, its useless. I built my first computer when the internet was still free.
It's not an app. It's just a bookmark.
It won´t work on my chrome notebook.
can not highlight pdf document
too small free
False advertisement. This is NOT an app. It's merely a bookmark.
Having problens with Chrome Version 47.0.2526.49 beta-m (64-bit). It opens the dropbox but directly closes.
don't forget your sign-in info, there's no way to retrieve it via Customer Support.
app does nothing and doesn't have an easy way to delete it
This gets one star because it took zero effort to make this "app." It's a glorified desktop shortcut to the website. What a load of garbage.
Just a link to the website? come on!
Amazing app which suddenly disappears from file extensions :(((
This is just a link. I hope Dropbox will change this app to use the fileSystem API of Chrome OS, so you can access Dropbox from the files app. This so you can access your files like Google Drive and save and edit them directly on your Dropbox account.
I N U T I L E
incompatible
This is not an application, it just links to the web-page for drop-box.
just plain stupid
Google Chrome will not allow app to open. States that security certificate is invalid. States that website is not the real Dropbox. Firefox will allow the app to run. Osviously a problem with Google Chrome security.
This "app" literally just opens the website...I'd write more but quite frankly I don't need to. Prove me wrong - install the "app" and see what it does, and If I'm wrong then reply with your own rating telling me why I'm wrong
sucks
bleah its a virus
Useless on a chromebook. You can upload your files and see them from any device but you cannot edit them as no folder appears on the chrome device. Editing requires a download/edit/upload sequence.
It's just a bookmark...
I am reviewing the Google Chrome Dropbox App. I hate it because it's nothing more than a link to the dropbox site. There is a line in the Chrome Web Store description that says "• Works even when offline. You always have your files, whether or not you have a connection." This is simply not true, and so this "app" is useless as far as I'm concerned.
just a link to the webpage
this is not a chrome app, its a bookmark.
Hyperlink, not app.
just a link
Dropbox: The app is currently unreachable. Learn more about this problem.
Just a link
I hate it because no matter what I do, I can't figure out how to use it. I'm not a genius, but I'm no slouch either. There should be one big blank page where you upload. Theres not. It should be easier to find. And yet everyone uses dropbox so I'm forced to figure out a product i DON'T like Lame
