It does not work correctly. I tested it and launched it to check changes every 30 minutes. And this extension just pops up a notification every 30 minutes, no matter that there are no changes in the page. At least I choose to check just one phase on the page and get a notification every 30 minutes, when no changes in this phase again. It is not worth spending time
Doesn't work any more. When I click on the icon, it opens a little empty white square box, and does nothing else.
Anyone else getting phantom snoozed notifications? How can I switch that feature off? I only want real-time updates
"Distill Web Monitor has crashed. Click this balloon to reload the extension." Distill crashing constantly on Vivaldi browser. The first start up of Distill always seem to work, then the subsequent will crash until browser is completely shut down and restarted.
I am having a problem on website when i click dates and save after shows empty
Does not work. Installed, set up monitor, observed change in target independently, still reports unchanged. Bye bye.
Doesn't work. Selects its own elements when trying to stop selecting page elements leading to a hung page requiring a page refresh (where you're once again stuck recording all clicks on elements…). This is when the Developer Tools panel is open.
I could not make it work for me...
Can't select email. Email/Select email/Manage List/Loading
Limited to only 25 items on your watch list even if you're using only your computer resources (non-cloud). Seems ridiculous that the software limits the number of items considering I'm not using your servers.
LIMITED TO 25 PAGES
In my opinion you charge too much for the paid plans.
Great for monitoring. Only issue is that you can't turn it off. Even deleting pages from watchlist and cleaning trash, it keeps beeping on changes. SAD!

This extension use to be good, however recently in the past month, it seems to check/refresh it's tabs in the main window tabs... I'll be watching a youtube video or streaming a video or writing a post to social media.. then suddenly the page I was on turns into the page distil is refreshing.. Especially annoying if I was in the middle of writing a post then when i go back, all that I wrote is gone or video I was watching, have to try to find where I left off in the video, etc. Please fix this bug.
Not only do the notifications not work, but after some time the browser extension fails to open to go to the watchlist when I press the blue button "go to watchlist". This happens on both my Elitebook as well as on my NUC (both running the latest version of Chrome). I disabled all other extensions but still the same result. The GUI definitely needs work and the help pages are poorly written. I know basic programming myself so that's not the issue. I just can't recommend this extension or any of Distill's services at this moment.
Does not work anymore, reagrdless of website used.
The idea of the application is good, but in practice it does not work
From time to time, the extension just deletes your watchlist for no reason. They probably want you the be annoyed enough and go with their cloud subscription. Lame. Also, this thing is crashing 20 times a day; can't imagine ppl actually pay for this pos.
Trying to buy positive reviews by withholding access to the Android app.
Loved the extension but I have to rate it bad, it disables Youtube's history somehow, it just stops working...
Whats the purpose of having good features if the management is terrible??? I am a paid customer of another account and they refused me to give the details of the plan I am using and reason for extra charge! Their behavior is rude and they are treating customer like trash!! I am going to register complaint on them!
Used to be a great extension, has now changed to only allow 25 local monitors. This is ridiculous and ruins the extension, there's no reason to limit local monitors.
No sound alert when the page changes.
As far as I concern, it was supposed to check in the background selected pages daily and tell me if there's a change, without me open and check it. tried it, didn't work. note that this extension requires constant permissions to view all your sites and not just monitored ones.. weird? yes. 1 star. uninstall.
I liked this extension until recently. Now every single day it disables itself and Chrome says "this extension may have been corrupted." And I can re-enable it, and then I have to re-add all of my watches again. *sigh*
It often shows "This extension may have been corrupted", even after repaired the extension and restarted the browser.
A lot of frustrate add's and popups with stupid advertise
June 2024 Update: The page detection silently failed and never told me (error "SELECTION_EMPTY error encountered"). That's right, it fails in the background, and then never notifies the user. So when you think it's working fine, it's actually not. I discovered an important page had changed and I was like "Wait, why didn't Distill Web Monitor tell me? I spent all this time setting this up!" Turns out it's just designed like garbage. 1/5 stars. DO NOT USE. ________ Original Review: Keeps popping up windows and interrupting browsing experience.
doesn't work
Why on earth should I need to create an account and log in to anything in order to monitor a webpage for changes? Ridiculous, uninstalling.
why do I have to create an account?
SOUND NOTIFICATION DOENS'T WORK!!!
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO! They do not ever let you delete it. There is no way to do that on their site and even if you email them they refuse to delete your credit card info, saying they need it "for accounting purposes". DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO! Any reputable company allows you to remove your credit card number when you no longer have a subscription. Be forewarned! Today I received this rude reply. Again, be forewarned. "I think you don't what really happens at "every" other company. Companies don't remove credit card numbers. When they apparently do, they usually hide them from view. Credit card numbers have to be kept on file for accounting purposes since a customer can file a chargeback after using the services and companies need them to fight them. If you don't plan to use Distill in future, you can request us to permanently close your account. Best, Ajit"
The new pricing model is insane. It has *severe* restrictions on the number of monitors even for *purely local* monitors. Completely breaks my old setup. Why would you charge me $49+ per month when I don't use any of your server resources? A one-time flat rate for unlimited local monitors would be reasonable.
I have tried different conditions non of them work
crashes repeatedly
Monitor limit exceeded!
I have like 20 pages to monitor for changes but with with app it's impossible to do. It's running up to 99% of my CPU and I get lagging system which I really don't like. Yeah optimization needs to be more. This is only one reason which I don't like everything else looks good.
was ok but suddenly it stopped working
Doesn't work. Every single thing I tried to "watch" gave me a "request to server failed" error. Don't use this.
Wouldn't it be great if it could actually monitor a number and not just text
Does not work anymore. Can't go to my watchlist page to change or update the settings (If i click on the link, nothing happens). I'm not using chrome, but a chromium browser, and i think that's the problem.
its workable but like any other tool it fails miserably when any kind of captcha is present on a website. does not even have a ability to alert user that captcha showed up... there are hundreds tools that do same thing and all have problem with captcha at least other monitor have an option to alert you that captcha is blocking content from loading this one does not it just stop working...
Unfortunately since the 1.20 version they are a lot of website who don't work with the message "Unknown Error", they worked perfectly before.
Chome Crashes after running 15 monitors 5-10 second window on Chrome webpage on computer. Should i reinstall chrome?
It's constantly double and triple checking the same links one right after another, and totally disregards the frequency to check. It just checks things all at once, multiple times in a row, causing errors. This is causing me major issues. Please fix...
If you try to purchase their paid plan – and their Profiles feature does not work for you – they'll require you to close your entire account to get a refund. During the support inquiry they mentioned you can still use the browser extension for free, but upon closing the account I could not. It was a really poor experience and wish they'd just be able to 1) refund customers if the paid plan doesn't work for them 2) implement the ability to remove paid features from an account in the event of a refund as they're most worried about someone using paid features after their subscription is canceled _and_ they were refunded.
Largely unreliable, whether attempting to monitor a small portion of some DIV tags on a basic page, or the entire page itself. It seems to frequently record a change and ring its bell, when the page simply hadn't finished loading, I can open the relevant tab and refresh all day no problem, so certainly an issue with this extension.
webhooks don't work
