Nice extension love it
This is an ancient plugin, and it's difficult to even understand how it saves settings. One of the options is "Enter the time periods within which to block these sites (optional):" However, when you don't select this parameter (and choose "all day"), you'll find that it simply doesn't work.
Great extension, very customizable but why would you prevent going back to previous page after blocking? It's annoying.
After adding it to Chrome, sometimes an error message 'Something went wrong when opening your profile' appears when I launch the browser. After removing the extension, the problem doesn't reoccur. CHROME VERSION 136.0.7103.114 OS VERSION Mac OS X: 15.5.0
not working
its not working on incognito mode
Scheduled blocking for a certain specific time period out of the day doesn't seem to work at all. This is the only thing I wanted the extension for, so unfortunately it's useless to me.
i dont know why this isnt working since today. works fine on edge though
timer not working
Doesn't work. I typed in multiple different variations of the Twitter url in the list and it still loads the website. Unchecked any time limits, I just wanted the website to close upon attempting to open it. Tried with different websites too, and they still load. The extension does not work.
It worked great on my old Chromebook. On my new Chromebook it makes Spotify stop after about 15 minutes if Leechblock is running. Not sure what changed, but something did. Aside form the glitch it generally works great and I usually love it.
i hate DO NOT GET IT
I would give it a better review but my dad went on my computer and added blocks to pretty much everything so I hate it, but if I were to use it for an actual purpose to help myself I would give it a 5.
this is so complex to use
It's a good idea, but the way it works is really confusing, i couldn't figure out how the custom message working, and the way you input the site you want to block is really confusing
I will rate it 5 if you enable possibility for automated backups with user accounts directly synced to Gmail or any other platform, that I don't have to use manual labor for backup today in 2025 when computer computing did already function and operate you fail to simply implement an automated backup with user accounts, this is shameful, shame on you for that but apart from that I love your app and concept
why is it blocking websites I haven't blocked
It doesn't work anymore for me. It blocks sites briefly after saving settings, but then it stops working and sites can be opened again.
The override feature requires the user to always type in some minute value, and there is no option to disable it. It doesn't even remember the previous value the user typed in there. Really cumbersome to use because of that. I wish things were more streamlined for people who have good self-control. Why can't there be a checkbox for each Block Set to enable and disable them quickly in the menu that opens up by clicking the extension's icon? It's still the best free option available.
Firefox desktop version is perfect. But in Chrome desktop version the random code to access to the option is useless, because you can copy and paste the code.
It doesn't work in private tab, even though it's supposed to. maybe it's not the dev's fault but this is a major hole
I just installed it now and have been messing around with it for an hour or so, testing it out. I’m really impressed with it. You can schedule days and time durations for the blocks, which is exactly what I was looking for. I thought it was perfect, but I just found one major flaw, and it’s right in front of us: the Chrome extension jigsaw icon in the Chrome toolbar. Even with all the advanced features enabled, you can just click the Chrome extension jigsaw icon in the Chrome toolbar, scroll down to find LeechBlock, and uninstall it. Then you can access all the websites that you had just blocked. I’ve been Googling and using ChatGPT for the last hour trying to figure out how to remove the Chrome jigsaw extension icon, but there appears to be no way of doing so. I hope the developers can address this because, with this flaw, the effectiveness of this extension takes a big hit, even with all the advanced settings in place. I would have rated 5 stars but im gonna give it a 3 because of this.. hopefully can return once fixed and rate it a 5!
waaay too much self-promotion in this app.
This works well, but without a Safari extension it feel very much incomplete. What is the point to have something that works well on Chrome when i can easily open safari and bypass into oblivion..? Good but useless for mac users
This is a fantastic productivity tool, but it's causing me some incredibly annoying scroll and video stuttering (confirmed), and possibly typing stuttering as well (unconfirmed). 5 stars otherwise, and definitely 5 stars if you can fix the stuttering issues.
