Source code is available at https://github.com/KristianKalm/ProtonMailCounter * There is official counter for the bookmark in Proton mail * Settings -> Messages and composing -> Show unread count in Favicon Unofficial Proton Mail counter extension for chrome, refreshes the count every 15 minutes. Extension launches pinned proton tab for 5 seconds in background to get the unread count, this allows to get the unread count without any credentials needed for the extension itself. Extension only has access to tab name, and gets the reads the value from "(1) Inbox", which is only displayed when the unread count favicon is off.
