Doesnt work
No longer working as of 17/11/25 Tried removing and re-installing and updating. Its set to work in incognito. Plus ive tried it in both. Not stopping new tabs from opening. Also made sure it's pinned and on. Checked all settings.
doesn't work
Doesn't do anything.
7/14/2025 Does not work.
Doesn't work
works as intended, but will stop anything new from opening when turned on, including new windows and apps completely unrelated to chrome. this means that if you close chrome with it turned on, you can't open chrome to turn it off. the only reason I was able to uninstall was because I was still able to open an incognito tab, log into my Google account, open the chrome web store, and uninstall it from there. if that hadn't worked, I would've had to do a factory reset through keyboard shortcuts. it works as intended when you remember to turn it on, but there is no easy way to turn it off if you close chrome completely because you won't be able to open it back up with it on, so I say it's not worth the risk as this is a major flaw in it's design.
Doesn't work. Tabs still open.
If you are using your pc to watch football/sports livestreams, don't bother installing it. It DOESN'T work!!! None of them does anymore.
Literally doesn't work. Popup tabs galore. Don't even bother with this extension.
it worked fine for a few mins then completely useless
It didn't work for the website I was using.
Doesn't work. Didn't block any tabs.
it's not working
Doesnt work at all
I would give it less than zero if I could. It is totally and utterly useless. It didn't stop a single new tab from opening. Don't bother with this. Not worth it.
This has the same major flaw as other tab blockers: Google Tab Groups are also killed, making them disappear permanently. Adjustments need to be made.
It's a great extension, but it prevents me to opening a new tab manually or restoring closed tab with Ctrl+Shift+T, maybe you can make exceptions for this? like opening new tab with "+" button or Ctrl+T, and restoring closed tabs with Ctrl+Shift+T. And manually disable and enable needs extra hand movement, it's either you make exceptions or make a keyboard shortcut to enable/disable the extension functionality. And another thing is there's a critical bug when I closed my browser then opening it again it will closing my blank tab over and over again causing my CPU usage go high. I'll change my review if you fix these problems. Thank you Dev!
Does what it says on the tin, but atleast on mobile when reopening kiwi browser with it active it will kill all of your open tabs, needs some work to not just delete your stash of tabs
With this extension enabled, the standard command for opening new tab (ctrl+T, or '+' sign in the tabs bar) stops working. This is unacceptable.
Great, but with an irritating flaw... It stops you from opening up tabs manually. When it's switched on it does its job well, stopping all those annoying separate tab pop-ups, but you have to switch it off every time you want to open up a new tab yourself. If you can make it so that you can still open up tabs yourself whilst blocking the pop-up ones, it would be perfect.
It no longer stays enabled when you close the browser. You have to enable it every time you open Chrome. I start Chrome in kiosk mode with no keyboard so there is no way to enable it every time. Not sure if TabBlock or Chrome changed.
It works, but as another reviewer put it: It works TOO WELL. There should be an option to only turn it on for certain sites, or only turn it off for certain sites, and not destroy tabs when closing Chrome. This even blocks INTENTIONAL new tabs (press ctrl+t, click new tab button, middle-click link to open in a new tab) and having to toggle the block every time I want a new tab is annoying.
Works well... TOO WELL. When you close out of chrome with this extension enabled, you are LOCKED OUT OF THE WINDOW, and it forces all tabs to stay closed unless you end process. Please fix this.
They had a good idea but it completely blocks additional manual tabs that you want to create. Example, if I go to the top and open up a tab; it won't open. No bueno.
Once enabled, the extension blocks all future tabs from being opened, as it claims to. The only issue I've come across, is that it also blocks me from opening any other tabs I actually want to open. I have to disable the extension, close Chrome, and re-launch Chrome to be able to open any tabs other than those that are already opened before activating the extension, which is a bit frustrating. If they could add a CTRL+click or similar keybind to allow you to open tabs specifically when you want to, this would be a 5-star extension. Any reviews that says this doesn't work, is likely as a result of them not actually going to their Chrome extensions list and enabling this extention. It works as long as you enable it, which I think most people expect to, but isn't enabled by defualt as soon as you install/add the extension.
Works how it's advertised but it should have an option to be disabled by default and activate once a certain website is visited (through a user made list) to allow for flexibility and automation.
