Not working for me at all today, after degrading for a while. No response from support. This VPN is not cheap, and I'm regretting paying for it today.

Paid customer but the extension keeps blocking connection with requests to leave a review. 'Not now' is not enough of an option - please add a 'No thanks' too. Regardless, this is a review so I'm hoping that I can now use the extension for the purpose that it was installed for. Zero stars not possible.

Disappointing, sometimes auto connects me to servers that don't seem to work, no websites will load, so have to manually find a server that does work & now within the last week or so it's having issues loading images on websites, it'll work one minute but then you refresh the page & no images will load, you have to change server to get them to load & then they stop working again, becoming unusable, as a Proton Unlimited customer thinking about cancelling.

Something has changed over the past few days. Webpages start failing to load at random after some time, and the only way to restore browsing is to disconnect and reconnect the VPN. This was not happening earlier, and it occurs across multiple locations. There’s also the recurring browser popup asking for login credentials, which others have already reported. I should also mention that I use the whitelist feature, yet at times it feels like even the excluded domains are still being routed or throttled through the VPN. My guess is that third-party domains on those pages are being processed through the VPN and causing slowdowns. Either way, it’s becoming quite annoying. Update: God, this addon has become useless because of this issue. I really do not want to go back to system level app. I should also mention here that the app is quite annoying to use. I use the whitelist feature and it is always so painful to use it. There is no search feature. Domains are not listed alphabetically. You have to deal with menus in a small popup to access it. Make it work in a tab so that I have better control over it. Add a search box. It is also annoying that whitelisting does not work on internal links accessed by the domain so you still might not get proper access. For example, to make ikea work, i had to whitelist another domain that was very hard to find from their code. the site kept on failing otherwise.

For me i am not satissfied with the speed i get for specific country. it is too slow, not worth for what we pay for .

On my phone Proton VPN works flawlessly - I'm satisfied. As a browser extension on my laptop though it's 180° different. It works fine for some time (say around 5-10min on average) and then websites stop loading for some reason. I end up switching it off to continue work thus losing the whole point of having the extension in the first place.

Very needy about writing reviews or rating a product that I already paid for. This is the second time this week alone. Blocking the ability to connect behind a review popup that needs dealt with before the extension is useable is poor design. It worked though, I left a review...

It doesn't work on Chrome & Firefox. I can use it on my Android phone but somehow I can't browse when I use the browser extensions.

It always shows "can't connect to the server" and asks me to log out and then log in again; however, this doesn’t work. It seems to happen only with the browser extension, because there is no such issue on the desktop.

It’s been two years since I moved to the UAE, and the desktop app still doesn’t work properly. Every single time, I have to exit and reinstall it just to connect, which takes a lot of time. The mobile app is even worse. Then there’s the Chrome extension. Honestly, buying this subscription for more than 24 months was a big mistake. It feels like a complete waste of money. I’ve contacted support countless times, and all I hear is that it’s blocked in my country and hard for them to fix. You’re a globally known company. I paid for this service, so why doesn’t your VPN work here when other VPNs do? They can’t fix the issue, and they can’t offer a refund either. It’s really disappointing to see a company that talks so much about vision and values handle things this way. The Chrome extension doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried Chrome stable, beta, and dev, and even tried it on Comet. It shows as connected, but it’s not actually connected. I’ve switched between Secure Core and normal modes, and nothing works. I can share logs, screenshots, and videos if needed. Overall, it’s been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

AVOID THIS EXTENSION! Using it could lead to you getting banned or blocked from sites! One moment you're in Miami, and the next, you're in Poland! I was confused about why X kept blocking my account when I wasn't violating any rules and was only making about 5 comments a week at most. Then one day, I checked this extension and found myself halfway across the globe in Poland, just 15 minutes after being in Florida! USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK FYI I was using the FREE version. I have no clue if the paid version has this issue.

To use vpn you need to login, to access login you need to use vpn.. it's an impossible loop.

Can't exclude localhost? What VPN doesn't do that.

(Free version) Cannot access safe known websites to log in. Have to disconnect and reconnect all the time. That's not a problem; the big issue is I cannot select the closest server without paying for the premium plan...; due to this, the server it picks is regularly in Netherlands and I'm in USA, it makes the speed of the connection very slow.

I've had nothing but constant disconnections where the only way to solve it is by switching back and forth between servers, and when I say constant, every 15 minutes. I have a premium account, so its not like I am using the free servers. I use this on firefox and on my laptop through the windows based app, and on android with no issues whatsoever, I even used it on the edge (chromium) browser before I switched to firefox as my main browser a couple months ago with zero issues but the moment I need to use google chrome for something, it just does work at all.

Slow. Sometimes doesn't even load webpages. It's a shame since it works so well on android, so I'd imagine the issue lies with this extension rather than the VPN service itself.
