I followed instructions, but I cannot get translation text to show up in the pop-up box

Can't seem to get it to work in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Can't seem to get it to work. Did everything in the instructions tab.

Removed the extension and is still on my account, no way to turn off either so it's just stuck here...

Doesn't work. When you try to click on "listen", it opens the options tab and with it, closes the permissions that need to be activated (terrible developing).

On Windows 11, Chrome keeps asking me to enable microphone access after I've already done it several times. This extension used to work for me on Windows 10. Why can't this extension be more like the "Real-Time Video & Audio Translation" by Byrdhouse? That one just works as soon as I install it, doesn't even ask for microphone access, it just asks you to login to your Google account. It's not free though (only 30 minutes of audio is free). I'm trying to watch a Twitch.tv video with French audio and translate it to English.

The translation quality is terrible! I converted ChatGPT's responses to speech using Google TTS, then used SpeechTranslator for translation, and the probability of misheard words was extremely high! I tried slowing down the speech speed, lowering the pitch, and even experimented with both US and UK accents, but the results were still very poor! I believe this is an ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) issue – do you support custom ASR engines?

There is no option to select which mic you want to use in chrome as shown in your screenshots. I can only allow microphone usage and thats all.

Tried following the setup instructions for 2 hours and could not get it to work. The troubleshooting page simply said reread the instructions more carefully

For whatever reason, it keeps trying to listen through the microphone instead of the system's output audio like other more sensible extensions (like Shazam). I cannot get it to work.

It works for about 15 seconds, then cuts out and stops translating. Google Translate does the same thing. Seems to be an issue with the service. Not useable.

Unfortunately, the program does not work on my system. I have followed the instructions very carefully, three times in a row, to the very last dot, but the algorithm refuses to translate videos. Looks like the best translation method is still to just take snaps of the screen and image translate the subtitles.

I Tried to get it to translate the audio from a video but instead it just repeated back any sounds or words I spoke. I can't find any fix for this anywhere.

I'm unable to remove this from my chrome, i've deleted it from extensions, but it keeps coming back every single time!!!!

Doesn't work at all for Korean even though it's in the tutorial video, literally doesn't even pick up a single word. Tried Edge and Chrome, the only word it picked up was "Yeah" in a ten minute span video and also would stop videos because they became "corrupted" so something is wrong with this app.. Changed videos to a Korean speech making sure it was clearly worded and precise words, still doesn't work at all.

Simply doesn't work. Granted permission to always use the mic but repeatedly asks to use it over and over. Brand new computer with updated Chrome.

Doesn't work. I selected the right mic it picks up audio but can't stops working after two words. Very suspicious.

Would be ok except for the fact that it randomly stops translating like 10 seconds of it working. Forcing u to turn the extension on and off again

I installed Microsoft Edge developer just to make this work on VK videos to translate from Russian to English - spent hours doing troubleshoot to no avail. Everything checks as shown in the troubleshoot images but no text, none in the box, none in the pop-up window. Tried this on Micrsoft Edge 140 running on Linux Mint 21.1 Update: I finally found an extension that works in Brave and Firefox browsers so I uninstalled Edge - immersivetranslate dot com - free and translates VK Russian subtitles.

It worked perfectly for a while but recently it just stopped transcribing and only showed short spurts of words for a few seconds and then stopped altogether.

it tried translate Jap->En but fail. only able to sometime translate 1 word.

The translation itself is OK (I went from Finnish to English and could get the gist of it) but the interface is impossible to control. It simply stops after a minute and you have to keep restarting it. The translation window won't display over a full-screen video, and in a regular screen, you can't control where the translation window goes. It started as an overlay in the upper-left corner, then it went in a popup window that wouldn't stay in front, then I only had the option to put it in a side panel that took up too much of the screen. You'd think simple window options would be one of the basic features this app would get right.

Great for a few seconds now and again, but it goes to sleep for a long time. It detects about 1% of the speech, and ignores everything else for several minutes at a time. Then it will randomly hear something and translate it, which is great, and then just ignore everything for another 5 minutes. I tried changing to Google Translate (Script) and creating my own API key etc, but it didn't help. The issue still persists when 'Show the translated text' is disabled in the Configuration tab. Also tried using a VPN to change my IP/region but it didn't help. Update: The version in Edge works great! It's a 1000x improvement. Almost all of the speech is recognised. If the Chrome version worked like that, then it would be 5 stars. Nobody should ever be forced to use Edge 😂

Could not get it to work on twitch. After seeing a bot spam this extension all over google swearing up and down it works for people who want translations for foreign streamers. I tried this out. I've followed the supplied instructions yet some settings are missing or not the same for win 11. System Win 11 64bit. Browser: Brave. Could you update? That or it just does not work on Win 11.. or Twitch.

Would get more stars if it could get the sound directly fom PC and not from the speakers; I have to get near the microphone (a mile away) and turn it round to face the PC speakers. Not good. And then, when I finish using the translator I have to get to the mic (a mile away) and turn it back towards me. Gets it right half the time.

I could not make this extension work on both chrome and brave browser. I tried all the instruction showed but the extension shows empty only when playing audio or video.

cannot figure out how to get this to work on any video, it only picks up my voice for translation. I've followed the guides trying to get it to work for 2 hours now to no avail.

It keep crashing , is this known bug or what ?

I need an option to detect the language.

Why do I only get a sentence or two and then it stops translating and nothing appears in the translation box?
