Doesn't work at all in the latest version of chrome.
Doesn't work at all
For anyone using this with Opera - does not work!
Please fix the pinned tab thing ASAP
Recently, there is an issue with pinned tabs, which wasn't there before
I also am having the issue with pinned tabs, please fix it!
Newest version opens a pinned tab.
Worked well enough for a while, but I would still get AI overviews in drop down menus which I was also hoping to avoid. Then on November 3rd it the plugin began demanding an update and in order to install the update I needed to give it permission to view and alter my data across all websites. Absolutely not.
doesn't work on opera as of 2025/08/18
Doesn't work
Similarly to others, on Opera I'm finding that, sadly, this doesn't work. Might be browser specific? Either way, the attitude of 'It works for everyone but you' really sucks as there are multiple people confirming this isn't working on Opera.
doesn't work. it does seem like this may be due to browser issues, as i'm using Opera and it seems like others having trouble with these blockers are also using Opera, but still disappointing especially since the dev has supposedly tested it on "all platforms and browser versions" and is accusing people of writing fake reviews.
Doesn't work, I've tried this one and many others. Bummer :/
Doesn't work.
I've tried several add-ons to remove the ai summaries today and this one, like the others, only worked for a few seconds before the summaries came back. I didn't even write reviews for the others, but seeing the dev accusing any negative review of being fake made me feel the need to emphasis this doesn't work for everyone. It's a bad look to say 'it works for everyone if we ignore everyone it doesn't work for'. It obviously works for the dev, there may be other factors impairing it for others. And there's plenty of people saying it doesn't work. But that attitude is concerning. For clarity, if it helps the dev or others; I'm running this through opera on a laptop.
it didn't work
Does absolutely nothing. The extension 'Hide Google AI Overviews' works.
still seeing the ai results.
Just installed it today, after someone recommending it on a Reddit thread where people were complaining about Ai overviews. It worked on Chrome , removing the AI overview. Great! :) So I thought. BUUUT.. later in the day I wasn't able to see my open Reddit threads anymore - the same ones where it was recommended! The outline of the reddit search bar would pulsate red and that was that. Page still open, URL there but all empty where the user's post and commenst were supposed to be. I did not started a new search, just went back to already open tabs. HUH?? Nor was I able to find the threads with a google search nor searching within reddit, altohough I gave the whole posts names in "". Tried on Brave the same URLs and searches, they worked. As I am not a tech expert and I also forgot about the extension, it took me a moment to figure out what may have happened. Also weird, I couldn't think of it first as it was showing plenty of other search results with "AI" in them, just not the ones that i was just reading previously. So I couldn't even realise immediately what caused this. Than I had to turn on and off separate extensions ione by one (I have several ones for different issues), just to figure out if any of them is causing the problem and which one. And this one was it. As soon as I turned it off, my content reapppeared, turn it on, it diappears again. Strange. Blocking some things that have "AI" in them, even if they are not overviews but people's whole discussion threads!? How? Even if there were some bots in the reddit commenst, as they are everywhere now, the threads and most comments were legit. I am upset! This doesn't seem to be just a bug and it is worse than "it just doesn't work". Anyways, if I want to waste time and energy testing and trouble-shooting some things, I just stay with Microsoft and Google, they have plenty of loose ends. :D So, this extension, to me, it toally overdid it. Thus, I will remove it. That being said, I apreciate the efforts of developing it! And I hope this was just an exception that will be fixed and it will hopefully help many other folks. I would give a bit better rating for the part that did work, but the developers' responses to people who gave feedback, accusing them being the problem themselves is shocking and holds me back from it.
The latest version automatically opens and pins (!!!) a tab with Google every time you open a new window.
Doesn't work on June 15 2025
Performance issues and flicker are rough here, I would suggest using another extension as there are many options. This takes up a huge and somewhat worrying chunk of resources and flickers on load. I ended up using the extension "aiBlock" instead.
Middle of the scale rating because while it worked and removed the overview section, it didn't show any previews like the example on the extension screen. The preview only showed up when I wrote "-ai" (which doesn't always work either). I'm not sure how that can be fixed, but when it is, I'll more than happily give 5 stars.
It makes but AI overview disappear, but this is not the same as turning it off or disabling it: It is still making the query and getting results.
