These folks set the low bar for the absolute worst support in the industry. Completely useless. 2 week response time, and then when they do respond they are absolutely no help. Paid account had key features removed with no notice and then when I contact them to ask about it, they take no accountability. Will not respond to inquiries about bugs in THEIR software. Stay away.
At first it all seemed great until I was in need of Support. If you reach the point that you need support you might as well go find a new program. Also, they do not understand how to give refunds so keep that in mind if you are paying for a year's access. Just stay away.
My editor broke after using it twice. You can't do anything. I contacted support, but was told that support is only provided on paid accounts. I'm not going to pay for something that broke while I was evaluating it. I had a student's free container break in exactly the same way, and I wonder if it's simply a way to get people to pay.
Not recommend for FTP client.
Awful. Absolutely the worst text editor I have ever seen. Here is a tip. Sell your chormebook and settle for anything else you can get your hands on.
Does not work, Does not uninstall
Tried to install it and it says I have it on the web store but doesn't show up anywhere on my pc. Pretty sure its a virus
failed to connect to ftp server
costs money to onnect more than 1 cloud device
I check in on this tool every 6 months-ish to see if they've improved their product, but I keep running into the same unresolved obstacles. Meanwhile codeenvy and cloud9 improve constantly. In fact the latter is much more usable on chrome for android (even on a phone) than the codeanywhere native app. There's no synchronization between the connections I create in the native app and what I see in the website code editor. Plenty of odd, unexplained errors at various spots (the "undefined" description in the profile pull-down menu, the unknown error that occurs during validating an FTP/SFTP connection, the constant failure to take care of expired refresh tokens automatically for Google drive file system integrations, etc, etc, etc). I saw the news today that they are integrating with digital ocean now, so decided to give this a spin once more, but the product (whether from a browser or mobile app) is still full of frustrating rough spots and poorly tested half-finished features that (by contrast) do work well on their competitors products. And sooner or later you gotta wonder if jetbrains will introduce a cloud based IDE too, so hopefully codeanywhere can catch up to the quality level being set by the market by then.
Worked great for our team at first... then they randomly updated the interface and removed/changed a ton of functionality we really liked. I guess thats the risk you take with a service like this.
Could not join to my own FTP server. Server is working. I don´t know why.
Codeanywhere is excellent and I use it a lot. The only reason I've given just 3 stars is that you can't select text to copy and paste, or just delete, with a stylus on a touchscreen. I use a chromebook tablet which doesn't have a physical keyboard, so I find that a big issue. The only way for me to do any useful touchscreen editing on chromeos therefore is to use a bluetooth keyboard. I can select text in other apps/webpages so this is probably just a css style thing. If it got sorted I'd give 5 stars :-)
Good app, unfortunately for students is too expensive subscription.
Great but could you please make the chrome app as "standalone" app. thanks in advance
