McAfee Anti-tracker

100% sorry I fell for either a bogus or terrible system. After multiple pop-up warnings about thousands of trackers, I purchased this anti-tracker software. Within seconds McAfee deducted payment from my credit card (warning: WITH automatic renewal) but there is no indication anything was downloaded to my computer....Just more warnings with options to buy more protections. I can't wait to cancel the system altogether and migrate to another antivirus program of my choice (McAfee came bundled with the computer purchase)

I want my money back. I think this is a ripp-off.

I received one (of many) toast notifications from McAfee that I had a large number of tracking cookies installed and asked whether I want to remove them. Of course, as is always the case, this goes to a screen where you are prompted to buy another McAfee subscription. I decided to purchase this subscription (Anti-tracker). The purchase was completely silent and I have no idea if this is doing anything at all. McAfee seems to spend all their time trying to sell you yet another subscription, then they do a dismal job of following up on what you just purchased. I haven't yet figured out if the software is installed correctly or not, or whether the numerous tracking cookies announced by the toast notification where removed or not, which I would like to verify. Using McAfee these days is very frustrating, incomplete, confusing, and issues constant disruptive and annoying toast notifications trying to sell you yet another subscription. By the way, toast notifications in Windows 10/11 are those square box notifications that pop-up (like toast from a toaster) on the bottom right corner of the screen, and prompt you to do something, and may also drop back down and disappear. If you have seen a toast notification and it has annoyingly disappeared before you could read it, there is a way to view them; ask Copilot how. I get tired just trying to figure out how to use McAfee products and whether I am getting anything useful for my money due to the extreme silent treatment from the software and a penchant to hide everything as much as possible from the user. The toast notifications are completely toasting McAfee reputation with me. It's abusive.

McAfee resends offers subscription and tries to charge multiple times This has occurred previous times..

Used to be a fan of McAfee programs, until I discovered there were about a half dozen overlapping subscription accounts set up, and about a half of them were still active. A couple of these accounts cost me over $200. bucks, due to the recurring payments program. To correct this issue, I wound up contacting the "Customer Service", consolidating the remaining account subscriptions in to 1 account, and deleting the remaining accounts. You would think that being in the protection business, this issue would be McAfee's first concern. :<(

Doesnt work, after I installed it the lap top is worst than ever

At the start was ok then keeped Continually turning itself off did this for a month or so and now for some reason stops on maybe because turned off auto renewal

Bought it last night. Tried several times. Still cannot get it to install. I want my money back.

I have purchased Anti-tracker on Sept 20, 25 and have yet had it work at all. It will not let me turn it on until I paid! Well that's the problem I did pay $34.99= 9/20/25 I have the receipt. This is why it only has 2.3 stars.

Just like what everyone else is saying - it sucks. Just purchased protection, logged on to my profile and it says there is no subscriptions. Cannot find where to get my money back. Don't do it!

Paid for McAfee PC Optimizer. Never receive the product on my PC. They took my money but never gave me the product. Please give me a refund.

Giving you one star is being generous. Have I got the Anti-tracker? If so how do I load it my and my wife's mobiles? Or with NO confirmation of anything, do I just pray that McAfee is honest and I won't be tracked down!

If there were a zero in the rating that is what I would give as that is what I received, nothing. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Install it all you get is a link to the CHROME WEB STORE. SCAM, all I can see is links to purchase from the Chrome Store. Class Action Law Suite????

I want my money back for the Anti-Tracker today. I just did the subscription today but it only let me cancel the auto renewal. I want it canceled as of today same day I paid for it and a refund. This Anti-tracker is a joke. Doesn't even work!!!!!

McAfee charged me McAfee Anti-Tracker last year and unto-renew this year of 3/5/2015, but I can't download, it said error

I bought it and then could not install it because I captialized the wrong letter in my password to my email and it wouldn't give me a chance for another try. So you have my money but I don't have your service! Help me please,

I can't even install it. it says 'download Extension'. I click on extension and it offers all sorts of delights, including caring for your virtual dog. no box that says 'install'. You need to look at your website and try to do it yourself.

No Stars- can't figure out how to use it and can't pin it to my browser - keeps bothering me to buy it but I did and now I don't seem to be able to use it.

I could not find where to pin it(.bookmarked it) but no explanation as to how to pin and I read info 3xs. You need better instructions. Don't know if works yet.

Terrible product. As usual McAfee only sells you half the component and then wants more money to complete the cycle. I get notices that I have over 1400 trackers after installing, but then I need to buy another license to remove trackers. I will not be renewing with McAfee, back to Norton I go!

Purchased June 27, the receipt shows the following : Starts: Saturday, February 1, 2025 Expires: Sunday, February 1, 2026 That is ridiculous. Seeking full refund.

This is not working well. The Icon does not pin correctly, looks like I am not the only one. And I don't see a good use for this, the extension does not work. I would like my money back.

Waste of money, can't get the extension to work.

To complicated and the icon to pin the browser doesn't appear clearly and it's maybe for very qualify computer specialist. I don't recommend to buy this product. McAfee is offering a lot of "tools" that maybe we don't need and every year is including more and more "tools" to sell thing to us, the customers. It's better that offer a bundle where we can select our best choices and no more and more "new products". It's no fear.

I have no idea what I am doing when it askes me "to pin". I will not renew and it will probably be a pain to undo this.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing the anti-traker. I also can't figure out if it's doing anything besides ripping me off.

It keeps uninstalling. It runs for a short time and then uninstalls. I've tried reinstalling several times--same things over and over.

It doesn't stay on.

Like with most McAfee products, we find the installation process confusing and unnecessarily complicated due to the lack of clear instructions. Because of this, we are often hesitant to purchase additional McAfee add-ons, as we know the installation will likely be difficult. Unfortunately, our recent purchase of Anti-Tracker has proven no different. Despite following the steps provided, we are stuck in a loop of repeated messages prompting us to “complete the install,” even though we believe we have already done so. The experience is simply frustrating and discouraging.

Worst McAfee product ever. I signed up today and within 30 minutes of being on my computer there were over 999 "trackers". Because of this I can't access any website unless I manually ok every. single. one. Even the McAfee home page wouldn't go through. Good luck contacting customer "support". I've been on hold for over 30 minutes. Time to go to Norton.

I bought it and was trying to load it but couldn't so when I tried to go back to start over it only has remove Chrome!!!!! HELP

Dodgy software.

I'm so confused. I'm not real techy, but I DO need to use a laptop. I just wanted protection from tracking, malware, viruses..so I added McAfee Anti-Tracker to the Life Safe subscription, but when i click on the icon, it doesn't show that i have this protection! When I attempt to activate my purchases or view what i have, every click on the McAfee site sends me down rabbit holes ultimately taking me to a purchase suggestion. Why cant they just make it simple and do the installation and protection for me? I feel like I have to be real techy to get/use what i purchased and if I have missed some installation step, tough luck for me; I don't have the coverage i purchased. Make it simple guys or you're going to lose me at renewal time.

I hate the fact that I purchase something from McAfee, then I have to do something like download then figure out how to register it and make it work, rather than having it automatically download on my device and automatically begin setup. Also, I have, in the past, purchased software to "protect all devices" but again, I don't have a way to automatically register all devices on the software so all I have to do is download it on other devices. (I know that can be done, because many other things, like Microsoft 365, can be registered like that.)

Christi Lane, I just purchased McAfee Anti-Tracker. If what you say is true I'll be canceling my McAfee subscription today & likewise going to Norton. I'll wait and see if I am prompted to purchase an additional license to remove the Trackers. That would be ridiculous to purchase an Anti-Tracking app and it doesn't remove the Trackers! We'll see... If I am not required to purchase an additional license to remove the identified trackers then I will come back and change my ratings.
