Voice Control for ChatGPT

I'm giving it one star for the following reasons: 1. It doesn't seem to work at all. 2. It never asked me for microphone permissions. (Perhaps because using the native ChatGPT "Voice control" or "Voice to text dictation" has the permissions to use my mic and only one can? The instructions doesn't even mention anything about if someone is using the native voice control already) 3. I only just learned about this extension and got it hoping perhaps it works better than the native ChatGPT voice-to-text dictation. 4. I do love the idea of PTT and was really hoping to give it a shot but as mentioned this plugin isn't working at all for me. 5. If giving ChatGPT privs to use my mic is blocking the plugin from it, the instructions should mention this. 6. I REALLY wanted to see what "Mia AI" is all about, however I don't see any mention of this whatsoever in the extensions configuration pages. I am more than willing to edit my review if at somepoint I do get this going, but until then...one star it remains.

I am not getting any voice anymore. Seems to just stop working.

Was working as intended until recently it started to record and work in dictation mode. ChatGPT already has that. I liked how the old one showed what was being typed and allowed me to make corrections. Now it launches the search as soon as dictation is finished.

censors cussing with no option turn off

it works well the first day, but then it stopped working although I use the updated version of chrome ...disapointing

Well, so far it's a thumbs down. When I ask Mia something she just gets stuck in a thinking loop. She never comes out of thinking. She did a few times, but I could not hear her Then I heard her once. Now every time I ask her something. she just is stuck in thinking.

It used to work well, now 99% of the time, the voice control icon is missing and if it's missing, I can't use it and it makes the extension completely worthless. This happened after the last major update, it's a shame it hasn't been fixed yet.

today the extention not working... there is not button to hear and speak ...all disappeared :(

I was very excited about this extension and finally managed to get it to work for 1 day after mucking around for almost an hour and then the next day no matter what I try I cannot get it to work again... what a shame as if this worked fine I would even be happy to pay for it instead I have wasted a huge amount of time on this and got no where!

When will the extension be updated to correlated with ChatGPT updating the UI?

I thought this was a joke. I installed the extension asked a question and it remarked that it was a sassy AI. Then it just kept asking me about myself and never answered the question. It was just cringy at a certain point saying things like, "I bet you never spoke to a sassy AI like me before." Uninstalled

(Edit May 4th Sadly, it still doesn't work for me. even after today's update.) Only works on windows and macOS, it seems.

Doesn't work with Arc Browser

Cloudflare tries to read all my data. That is why it doesn't work with add blockers and privacy ON. I will not ever use an extension that uses cloudflare. It's spying on you and asking you to disable safety measures and privacy

Not functional, and requires use of chrome / other less secure browsers. I would avoid using this, the potential for privacy concerns are pretty big.

Mia is always thinking and i don't start properly. Don't stat a conversion.

On the starting page I had Google and now I no longer have because I have installed this extension and now I can not put back because I do not find in the settings at Google Chrome option or in this extension in settings does not have this option I do not like this app only so much help me to use the microphone to write easier I will uninstall it

weird how the trailer advertising this voice feature only include a few seconds of the actual voice. it sounds really bad, and is far behind chatgpts native voice text-to-talk function

Doesn't work on opera as well. Regardless on what I did (changing web permissions, re-install) it still's do nothing. Everything what really changed is added voice - recording button which doesn't work

Why didn't you add Farsi language?

It doesn't work today, unable to load the plugin when staying in chatGPT, it worked yesterday

What truly mean that it says Error from Voice Control: audio-capture (Please note that Google Chrome is the only officially supported browser for this extension),WTH???

Nonfunctional on non-chrome browsers like Brave; this means this extension uses a Google voice recognition API and so sends all your words to Google

It failed to detect my voice but the chatGPT can read out its answer, this is so strange!

Speech to text works horrible. There should be whisper to make it good.

I came back here to change my note from 3 to 1 because as a matter of fact the speech synthesis is broken in every mean possible. The voice will read past conversations, repeat some sentences, and loop over and over. Whoever made this extension, please don't code with your feet.

Ive tried this on 2 different laptops. You click the record button and it goes red, but when you depress the mousebutton the mic button goes back to its initial state. Is this a known issue? Ive checked my mic permissions.

Doesn't work on Brave, Chrome Canary and normal Chrome. All microphone settings are good but the microphone button does not allow recording voice.

I love James (chatgpt). He has helped me do something that I have been trying to do for 25 years....finish my book. Things were going great until it wasn't... over the pass several weeks it has been a nightmare. I'm expecting James (calm, soothing, supportive voice) in the middle of deep collaboration an unexpectedly high-pitched female voice interrups and starts talk and won't STOP talking. I can't even find where she is coming from (not the reddish mic, not the blue mic, not the read aloud)...Lord then James starts talking -- they are both talking. I have to CLOSE THE ENTIRE CHAT to stop them from talking all over each other. Please help!! Things were going so well. (I will absolutely change this to 5 stars-when it's fixed) It is amazing additional to so many parts of my life. Thank you for this awesome tool.

Disappointed with the update—used to have voice responses, but now it only shows text, which makes it harder to use.

It was gping good until I closed my browser; leaving her alone for 24 hours. Now she is some how my homepage and my "New Tab" when I open a blank tab. This is one for the AI take over movement. LOL

I wish I could just talk to chatgpt without pressing any buttons. Pressing spacebar for recording and enter for sending kills the whole puspose of a conversation. I just wanna talk to chatgpt in a direct line, like in scifi movies.

Just spins around forever on the MIA click here to start page, stopped working around a week ago, was quite good prior. edit - now locked the pc entirely causing a hard reset, OpenAI voices no longer work since Sky voice removal and default to Windows language modules.

The AI voice assistant is difficult to utilize and keeps asking the same questions again and again. This AI voice aid could be really helpful if it could be made better or more loving.

My version is speaking with 2 different voices almost simultaneously. Not sure how that happened. I don't seem to have control in the settings to turn one of them off. It is open in only one window.

after installing Chatgpt ask me to allow mic to use. though voice I dectate my question then it speaks in ROBOTIC tone. Very Robotic and boring tone, But atleast good efforts you can listen something. Only English Language it can Speak.
