Doesn't work... at all... on a 2014 Samsung Chormebook
i cant delete it.probably i will delete chrome also!!!!!
This ap sucks it requiers some USB drive to work, do not get it. it will not work for windows 7 PCs
it didnt work
My phone only needs a pair of headphones to tune in local FM radio. Why can't this use headphones? DUMB. It's dumb. Very very dumb.
does not work at all
As many, many others have also found, all that occurs when launch the app is that I require an external tuner. If I had a USB radio, I would not need the app!
On my Acer C720 chromebook, all i get is: "There was a problem: USB write failed. (Value 0x34 index 0x610 data [0x0], rc=4, lastErrorMessage="Transfer stalled." (same goes for 1.0.17)
TERRIBLE! i spent about 20 minutes just trying to get the radio to start! i would not tell anyone to get this app, ever. it was terrible. too hard to work. DO NOT GET THIS APP!!!
Doesn't work on HP chromebook: I get a USB write failed error,
I remember about a year ago, this extension worked pretty well on Chrome and even allowed use of the RTL-SDR on Chromebooks. Now, it seems like the app is broken as no audio in coming thru while the dongle is connected via USB port. Even closing out of the app does not work as it should and you have to right click on the icon in the tray especially in Chrome OS. I would love there to be a fix but given that the extension hasn't been updated in three years, I guess I will wait out for Google to open more Android apps and USB usage and download SDRTouch.
This software used to work but not anymore. I can tune around to different stations but there is no sound when I power on even with the volume at 100. The scan buttons do not work either, nothing happens when they are clicked, it just stays on the same frequency. It DID work the last time I used it about 1 year ago. It seems like this program was updated and no longer supports the RTL2832U anymore. In the settings there is no way to troubleshoot or select the device. This same RTL2832U USB works perfectly fine in SDR Sharp, just not this program. So nothing is wrong with my setup.
I give only 2 stars as it is working (for me) only for FM stations. FM stations are being received wonderfully.I have the RTL SDR with Up-Converter but, I am unable to receive AM stations. Can anybody who is receiving AM stations give details of configuration to be done. A step by step configuration will help a log. Thanks in advance.
error"THERE IS A PROBLEM: USB TUNER DEVICE NO FOUND. THE RADIO RECEIVER APP NEEDS AN RTL2832U-BASED DVB-T DONGLE WITH R820T TUNER CHIP TO WORK
my dongle not supported ;(
Mostly worthless. Not nearly as good as SDR Sharp. It works pretty well when it works but it tends to freeze all the time then there's no way to get rid of it except to uninstall it.
Sorry, but if you need to buy something just to get a simple app to work, it's not worth it.
y does it need a usb device! so STUPID!!!! GRRRRRRRRR
Getting "USB write failed" on my Samsung ARM/Snow Chromebook.
HP Chromebook error when Radio Receiver app power -on button is selected with RTL SDR BLOG V3 inserted in USB slot - "There was a problem: USB tuner device not found. The Radio Receiver app needs an RTL2832U-based DVB-T dongle (with an R820T tuner chip) to work." I am not sure how to correct this issue and get the Radio Receiver app to work at all. Google Chrome 115.0.5790.160 (Official Build) (64-bit).
I'm not having any luck getting this to work on my Raspberry Pi. The app appears to install fine and is just what I was looking for for my car computer setup as it's a simple GUI with nice large buttons I can use with a touchscreen, but when clicking "Power On" I'm not getting any audio. I know my dongle is working (it's an RTL-SDR v3) as I have other apps that use it and will stream radio fine. I get no errors running the app but I also can't close it. Clicking the X does nothing. Any ideas what might be going on? Running this on Raspbian Stretch at the moment on a Pi 3B+.
Could be so much better. All I get is local FM, I can't get anything outside of 88-108 Mhz. Would be great if it had the ability to scan an a lower and upper band scan like say 138 Mhz to 144 Mhz like scanners do.
They took off the weather radio bands!
free band did not work for me.
It's okay for local listening on AM and it's really good on FM, but not sensitive enough for shortwave. I compared it to my Windows apps and the signals using other SDR sftware won hands down. It doesn't bring the carrier through the static very well. Dxing is out of the question. One idea: A plain signal meter would help. I'm currently using longwire antenna w/balun and upconverter. Offset upconverter to 100000000 and worked for shortwave broadcast, CW, USB/LSB.
Works well when not using HF bands - the dongle I have (cheap RTL wide band 100KHz to 1.7GHz) requires direct conversion of Q channel for HF - this does not appear to be supported, otherwise a higher score.
It works well, but there is distortion in the audio that I don't get with SDR# on the same channels
Works on Ubuntu, quite surprised. Interface needs some polish, needs volume setting and would be nice to be able to change the frequency using the scroll wheel. Reception is not as good as GQRX.
I keep getting USB write errors when I try to scan stations. This does receive FM radio on my Chromebook.
