Here is why this Sparkchess is completely stupid and really annoying. Basically you either play Cody who anyone can destroy, or you play Clair, who destroys you every time. To get someone in the middle of both extremes, you have to pay! So basically this is the most pointless game without paying unless you find it fun to destroy Cody in no time or lost EVERY time to Clair. And who wants to pay $15 to play a stupid game of chess. Not me! I can literally play as many games as I want for free with an average difficulty other places. Not to mention how HORRIBLE the adds are! So please don't waste your time on something as pointless as this. I'd recommend leaving a 1 star review too so more people will avoid frustration.

when you play the queen it limits your moves

escrow it lets the enemy move 500 spaces and you move 1 and its rig you can kill the ENEMY

This game is stupid and not fun. I played for like 4 games and all were draws. It was not fun at all. Don't recommend this chess game. Keep looking this game is not very good!

CPU hog! Takes 2 cores 100%, even when not playing. (Same problem on iOS)

The ads are very invasive. Wouldn't be an issue if you could pay to get rid of them, but $3 per month is outrageous.

It used to be good, but now it has a lot of bugs ! When your peace is in the last line you can not move because of the letters "check", "Your move", "oponent is thinking", some times you lost the game because of this.

doesn't work. I was tempted back to using Chrome apps by the look of this game and surprise surprise it doesnt even work. I just get a black screen (the adds work ofc)

Who ever programmed this doesn't know anything about Chess other than cheating. I have the videos and witnesses to prove it. When you start to win all of a sudden you pawn disappears and any moves after that makes it next to impossible to win. However, I have won several times when it doesn't cheat (not to often though) and have the photos to prove that. It's to bad the game has to cheat to win otherwise it would be fun to play it. I'm amazed after reading some of the reviews no body else caught the cheating.

Free version is pointless, either too easy or ridiculously hard. Online modes aren't worth bothering with; too few players, no chat. Most features are locked in full version, so you can't get how good the help would be. Bout all I can say is that it's a stable app, but there's no shortage of those here.

The game is good, but the AI is a total cheat.. I was playing with Boris and when it was one step to get screwed by me. It constantly put a check to my king in a senseless and repeated manner and then it declared it to be a draw.. One more proper step, and i would have won it...

Meh. Looks great but the free version has none of the good features, you have to pay for more boards & pieces.

It's a link to a website with flash, not an actual app. Why does google allow these things here? At least there should be a distinction - I don't want FLASH games.

on April 2013 , When using multiple player , 80% of time it struck by waiting for next move , My net connection is Fine .

We are playing SparkChess free version. and facing disconnection problem many times. furthermore, when ever I reconnect my points are reverted to 1000 again. :(

Game is good, but multiplayer wins are not counted if the other player resigns, this leaves people quitting left and right to avoid having a loss counted against them.
