Description

Allows you to remove any element from a website. Temporarily or permanently. Be it an advertisment missed by your ad-blocker, fixed menu, distracting GIF image, overly animated slideshow or anything else getting in your way. Features: - easily remove multiple elements in a row (no need for a cumbersome context menu) - highlights elements under the cursor - customizable keyboard shortcut for activation - remember removed elements for a particular website or hide only temporarily - works flawlessly with iframes, embeds and ads - minimal memory and performance footprint - power user feature - customize CSS selectors New in v3: - preview which elements were removed - use space to remove elements resistant to mouse clicks - improved CSS selectors - more resilient UI - the much requested import/export feature - undo removed elements (Ctrl+Z / ⌘+Z) - dark mode

It worked until it didn't. On YouTube I can't open the settings/undo anything/save stuff I got rid of. Makes the entire thing useless.

I think this could be very useful in helping get rid of unwanted elements, but the "Remember by Default" option unfortunately doesn't work the way it should. It works for a little while, but then the elements I deleted keep coming back even with this checkbox checked. I'd really appreciate it if you fix this feature and make sure it actually keeps unwanted elements removed permanently instead of them being gone for a little while only to come back later. I'm assuming based on some reviews I've seen that this is a bug that needs fixing. If so, I'd really like for you to please fix it. Thank you in advance.

what happened to all my saved removed elements? they disappeared overnight across all websites (yes, the checkbox for save is toggled, and they were saved and working for over a year until now). edit (24/5/25): all my saves are lost again on restart. Please fix this.

Doesn't work at all. Elements all return on page reload...

It refuses to erase elements permanently in Opera, even when I check "remember". Please either fix it or make it available in the Opera extension site.

In update requires to "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit" in addition to initial also suspicious "Read your browsing history". It's just deletes part of DOM, why do you need data and history. Sadly there is no control from Google or it just buys our data from such spies

5/5 if it would be open source, since we can't know, i'm gonna say it's probably a data harvesting extension.

It doesnt remove, but mark as display: none

Honestly, it's just pointless now to use with this update. The hotkey no longer works in pop-up windows or in any situation where you're not in a main window and in full control. NanoDefender does the same or better job than AdBlock plus it comes with this same exact feature, so now this extension just adds nothing. :/

You changed it from a perfectly working solution to an annoying waste of time. Now, the red borders are too big, the control-z option is gone, the control-z replacement window is in the way, and when you close the replacement window it closes the program. Each of those is a show-stopper, for me. Removed from Chrome.

What's the point? The content is there when you refresh. You don't need an extension to do this. Hit F12 then CTRL + SHIFT + C, then delete the content you don't want.

Changes don't stick. Rather use the Block Element function of uBlock Origin.

★☆☆☆☆2017-06-29

Doesn't save, have to remove items each time. Useless.

Element just re-appears when page is refreshed. Waste of effort to block each time. What a piece of garbage.

★☆☆☆☆2017-05-12

When refresh the page the element is back. Need this to work with the new Twitch Site to hide "Recent Uploads" and "Based On Your Viewing History".

only works on certain things.

Terrible plugin. Sure, it deletes elements from your active page, but when you reload it's back. What's the point of that? This is a glorified Element Inspector in Chrome. Useless.

★☆☆☆☆2016-12-11

It hides the element but if you reload the page the element comes right back so what's the point?

No explanation on how to use this addon is given. The icon shows up, left clicking it does nothing, right clicking it gives no option to actually use the function and right clicking on website elements does not give a "remove element" option. I don't doubt that there's a way to use this addon but with no readme file, how are we to know? It shouldn't be a mystery; uninstalled, downloading alternative instead.

Doesn't work.

The name is misleading. A Block is a Block, not a "I wish this wasn't showing." Remove means REMOVE, not hide for a little while. So another remove from chrome to occur in 3...2...1...

Refuses to remove an element on geekzone.co.nz. Clicking does absolutely nothing, right-clicking does nothing. Removing extension. Offending element is: <div style="background-color:red;height:70px;text-align:center;display:flex;justify-content:center;align-items:center;padding:5px;font-size:150%;font-weight:bold"> Hey, we've noticed you have ad blocker enabled. We need the ad revenue to keep the site running. Please consider whitelisting Geekzone. </div>

★☆☆☆☆2015-05-01

Awful, just awful. It only blocks while you view a specific page with the elements, you chose what you block and it seems to block them at first BUT when you refresh the page, the elements you "blocked" appear again. Removing.

to put it simply, it doesn't work. after reading all of the reviews, i assumed that it would be great. i never realized that the last good review was actually posted over a year ago. (how is this still near the top of the search?)

★☆☆☆☆2015-03-30

It doesn't do crap. Click it, nothing. Right-click, useless context menu. Clicking "Click to remove element" does nothing. Useless. Gone.

★☆☆☆☆2015-03-21

literally does nothing and comes with no instructions.

★☆☆☆☆2014-09-25

★☆☆☆☆2014-09-22

Without a function for remembering what has been blocked (with more elegant options to filter things), this is not really helpful.

NO SAVE for the removed element useless when page reload

★★☆☆☆2024-10-03

There should be an option to select whether the element should actually be deleted from the html page instead of just hiding it, like it normally does.

Paloma M.B.

If the element you want to remove is at the right down corner, you can't remove it, because the extension has its pane there and you can't move it. It doesn't work for all elements. Especially on youtube. You can't remove the videos linked at the end of the video.

Vinay Wadhwa

Really need a "Select All" button to select ALL checkboxes for remembering removed elements? it is really cumbersome to check "remember" for each element that i removed. If that feature was to be added, I will update to 5 stars and even "donate" if theres an option.

苦海无涯

Need update. It won't save some element on same site. It's a very useful extension. If someone want to permanently hide the elements, use "NUKEM" the best element remover. So i have to uninstall this temporary things.

★★☆☆☆2017-09-06
Artur Jaskólski

It removes the elements until the page is refreshed. What's the use of that? It should remain removed until you un-remove it, otherwise it's almost useless, besides - it's possible to do that without installing any plugins, by using developers tools in Chrome.
