Wappalyzer - Technology profiler

Each time I synced to a new Chrome, I have to maunally turn off the "Anonymously send identified technologies to wappalyzer.com" option again. This extension is the most annoying extension because I don't have to do this to other extensions.

One star for opening 50 tabs while I was AFK, trying to force me to upgrade to Plus for $9/month. I did not agree to such behavior. Uninstalled from the browser.

Seems the good days are over with this extension. Doesn't work anymore, and only 50 lookups per month in the free edition? And the cheapest option is 250 USD per month? Well, that's a no no for me. Pitty, I really liked this product through the years I used it.

As others have mentioned, the tool is useless. All the websites I tried resulted in 'no tools' used, which is patently rubbish.

once upon a time, it was one click, fast, worked for all sites & walked the talk. But that's history. These days, from last few weeks, infact months, it is selective in producing data even after signing in. May be there's some new tech, that sites use to block such extensions.

I would have given this a 5 star review, but like others, my extension just stopped working. I've tried in various Chromium-based browsers (and of course Chrome) and removing and re-adding and it just says, "No technologies detected". Very much worthless to me now.

Been reliable for YEARS and was superior to whatruns, providing a lot more useful detail, but now it's suddenly no longer working. Reinstalled it twice, but it's still blank. What's going on??? Uninstalled.

It has some scripts working in background that consumes 100% CPU bandwidth. Poor extension

I just watched a video while Chrome opened a new page and focused it just to show me “Wappalyzer has been upgraded”. You should never do that. Remove this function on extension updates.

It's not working on my PC, the extension always saying "No technologies detected"

The idea is amazing but it says that every website is made with react? My PHP website: react My static plain html and css website: react My JSF Primefaces website: react Are you serious? I'd rather have a message "could not get all technologies" or something than just slap react everywhere. Another solution could be a percentage of how sure the extension is that a website is made with given technology

used to work, but the company switched to a pay to play model, when you create technologys as a leader you really dont care about what the followers are doing

The new version consumes huge amount of CPU. Works like bloatware.

Completely misleading! I tested the site with popular sites like Netflix and Facebook which I know uses React as a frontend library. While my React detector shows they are using React, this extension shows it is using JQuery.

Unfortunately it broke a while ago, and even though I reset the cache and reported the issue, it's still unresolved nearly 2 weeks later.

It's not accurate. It identifies my hand-made .net core web application as PHP

Stopped working after the last update. Used to work reasonably well. Now it claims that React and styled-components on every single website I visit, including Google.com, and on the company's own website it claims it's using both React and Vue at the same time???

No longer appears in the menu. Have tried on Vivaldi and Firefox and it doesn't work any more. The devs seem to have no interest in fixing it either as this has been an issue for months for many people.

Yeah, no, doesn't work. Bookmarklet doesn't work either, because javascript gives off an error with getting property "html" from a string. Avoid.

Don't believe almose web sites have coinhive, like google, youtube, microsoft, protonmail... I think there is a bug in this plugin.

This extension started to request "change your data" permission! Why it need that?! Looks fishy

As it has been said, the wappalizer tab opening is almost spam.

The plugin is good, but why open your website every few days?? You want a traffic in a most unprofessional way!

Now, everytime I open my browser it opens wappalyzer tab. It sucks to see this update even if I disable this option on settings

It can't detect any Umbraco site. Their way (apps.json) of detecting doesn't work, it doesn't even identify umbraco.com...

It injects superfish.js to all webpages. One star for installing spyware to my chrome.

Updated on 8/14/2014, and now it doesn't work at all.

Just got "updated" this morning. Now it doesn't work at all! No applications detected on any of the 10+ computers using it in my office. This was a really useful tool, now it's broken. Uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing. Quit and restart Chrome, nothing. Chrome is up-to-date. Oh well. By the time they fix it I'm sure I'll have found a comparable replacement.
