After using this extension for several years, now getting annoyed with the redirects, popups and every other day with google privacy concern notice like this ------------------------------------------------ Chrome recommends you review this extension Chrome can't verify where this extension comes from, and it might be unsafe. Remove it from Chrome so it can no longer see and change your data on sites you visit, including personal info.

This is fraudulent business. Use it free if you want but do not give them a single penny.

For more than 10 years and Up until a month ago, I would have given FireShot 5 stars because of the unlimited flexibility it offered for screenshotting any size needed. However, that is no longer the case as they now have a minimum width of 1250 pixels. Every time I capture something smaller, they center it on a white page that is 1250 pixels wide so it has white columns on both sides - and this is wider than our standard 8.5" x 11" in portrait mode. This has the net effect of miniaturizing captures smaller than 1250 p, which is almost everything, and the captures are degraded when I try to make them to replicate them to their original true size. Several users have asked about it in the premium support board, and now experience it as a completely different and barely usable product now. Typically apps get more robust as they mature. FireShot is going the opposite direction and limiting the functionality. Why fix something that's not broken, FireShot?!?!???

They're annoying; almost every day I get a notification directing me to their website.

Tons of annoying popups that can't be turned off. Watch how you get a popup the instant you install. I can't believe anyone else puts up with this.

The free version failed on pages that the stock print worked with. Never got mroe than one page out of this thing. 0 of 5, would not recommend.

I rarely use it. And almost every time when I want to use it to capture a web page screenshot, it open a new browser tab saying "Congratulations, FireShot was updated". Even more, often, it displays "FireShot Pro free trial was expired" and forces me to Click "go back to lite version" button in the popup window otherwise every feature is unusable, even though I had never clicked a "Try Pro" button. Can you stop being so presentable? I have no interest in your fxxxing stuff (update, pro...). When I click the button, I just want to take a screenshot and leave.

I have used Fireshot for years. However, now it no longer functions. For some bizarre reason they have removed the "Capture selection" feature. Now, I have to look for an alternative.

I'm not providing a one start rating for what the product can do, but, in fact, because after purchasing a lifetime license, this will not reauthenticate as lifetime when I run it on a different browser with the same Google Account. This to me, is beyond frustrating and frankly, quite dishonest. If the developer chooses to approach me in a timely manner with a solution to this headache, I would be open to reviewing my review.

Had a customer service chat in a popup window with limited functionality. Wanted to archive the chat using fireshot. Result: Fireshot replaced the window's content with "fireshot got updated". As the window had limited functionalty, there was no back button, and fireshot actually replaced the content and did not just open a new tab. Result: No way to archive that chat, fireshot failed to carry out the one job it was installed for and served ads for itself instead. poor performance.

This POS doesn't work. It sometimes omits screen content or partially works then stalls.

The right-click functionality in FireShot has been malfunctioning for over a year now, and there has been no fix yet. Additionally, the developers have not been responding to this issue recently.

*2025 Update: Sadly, I changed my review from a 5 star to a 1 star because they removed support for capturing an entire page or scrolling capture and put it behind a paywall. Lame. I love this extension for the ability to scroll the page while snipping. Invaluable :)

not even near to my expectation, too much bloated, I was looking for a simple way to select a section of my page and then mark some section with boxes and put arrow and text, What went wrong: 1. The selection is very confusing, the cross should be hight lighted so use can see 2. after selection it should not go to other different page, instead it should stay, and we should get option to doodle, arrow, text and save conculsion: the team behind this extension is likely to build more but do not focus on simplicity and clean design,

FireShot is incredibly effective for capturing webpages, and its core functionality is genuinely useful and much appreciated. However, I'm giving it 1 star due to a critical issue: it is closed-source. This lack of transparency is a major concern. We, the users, cannot verify the code we are running in our browsers. This presents potential security and privacy risks, as there's no way to audit the extension for hidden tracking or malicious behaviour. Trust requires transparency. I genuinely love what this extension does, and I would instantly change my rating to 5 stars if the developers embraced free and open-source principles. I strongly urge other users to request this change as well. Open source is vital for user security and trust in browser extensions. Developers, please consider making FireShot open-source. The concept is fantastic, but its closed nature prevents a wholehearted recommendation.

It seems to be buggy: I use the program and as of March 9, 2025, when I capture from the same location, the captured image is captured 1 pixel further to the left. I've been using this program to capture image files, but because of this, the borders of the image files are not captured neatly.

Turned to absolute garbage in the last update. I've had it for years and it just doesn't work anymore. It sucks now!

I loved this extension for so long. It was simple, it worked, and it was free. Now, they've moved all basic functionality behind a paywall, which I understand to a point, but charging $40 for a Chrome extension like this is absolutely insane. I'll be finding a new product.

It does not let you edit webpages, only draw over them. Can delete pictures or text. Not even in the pro version. An app called Webpage screenshot use to work great for this. now it doesn't do it. Chrome mite have changed their TOS

It doesn't actually screenshot the entire website. It only captures what is on the window.

This update is really disappointing. The ability to freely select a region for screenshots, which I used most frequently in my daily tasks, has been removed. I cannot understand this change and am very unhappy with it. I would like to revert to the previous version.

I’m giving this a 1-star because my supposedly “lifetime pro license” from 2018 suddenly became invalid. Despite digging up the license and entering it into the pop-up as instructed, it simply doesn’t work. To make matters worse, customer service is non-existent. If you need help, your only option is to post in an outdated forum that seems came from the 2000s, which is completely ridiculous.

was amazing and still is good when it works. However, it keeps asking to to upgrade to Premium whih I alrady did. It will not accept the code. I have emailed them over and over but they never reply.

It's not working anymore. I go to Capture Entire Page and it just locks up. Tried the advanced features by installing the EXE and its the same thing. On both Edge and Chrome

Recent update completely broke the chrome extension. Very inconvenient and annoying considering it worked fine before.

This worked super perfectly. The filename setting was superb among the whole screenshot world. Because the conflict between IDM and FireShot regarding the 'failed to name the download file' issue is more likely to have arisen after Google updated its Chrome extension API to Manifest V3.

DON'T USE THIS! Use this instead: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/explain-and-send-screensh/mdddabjhelpilpnpgondfmehhcplpiin Same but better. This ridiculous extension just cost me a ton of data I cannot get back. THANKS! Worthless. If you take an extremely long screenshot, it will show you that it captured it all. But when you save it, half will be missing. Thanks for that!

STAY AWAY FOM THIS COMPANY - the app works well for a while and then when it stops there is NO AFTER SALES SUPPORT - NOTHING so money wasted. Multiple emails sent and still nothing - and then the self help support does not allow me to register even with a ligit registration umber and email - apparently i do not exist but unlocks for me to use the useless app no problem!

This extension failed to name the download "FireShot\FireShot Capture 006 - xxx - xxx - www.xxx.com.png" because another extension (Free Download Manager) determined a different filename "f5921f9f-d88f-4c50-8951-a7260cddbee4.png".

Very badly organized subscription system. Paid twice on Paypal, said payment was declined but went through. Logged in, shows subscription but there is no place to add it in the chrome extension. Click "try advanced features" Malwarebytes blocks using the extension settings option as suspicious content. Against better judgement, continue anyway and page returns "undefined". I'm not wasting 5 minutes of my time on support, this should be labeled as abandonware.

On or before 7 May 2024 Fireshot appears to have been hacked, and any attempts to use it redirected users to a malware website - a VERY serious problem! What's even more concerning is that the developer seems to think it's best to pretend this never happened, as there is no mention at all of it happening on the support site, only in the reviews here on the chrome web store on 7 May. I can only presume this was done in a misguided attempt to keep Firehshot's reputation clean so people pay for the Pro version. At some point everyone gets hacked, but the biggest problem is pretending it never happened, that's what puts us users most at risk. The Fireshot team should be helping us by informing us of problems so we can check our systems are clean, our bank accounts are safe, or check if there are any other time-sensitive action we need to take. Sadly, money comes before users safety, AGAIN.

I have been using Fireshot for years. Today when I took a screenshot it attempted to redirect to trashyepochabsorbing.com, a malicious site. I have to find another program for screenshots now. Very disappointing.
