Save to Google Drive

Total waste of time. Keeps insisting on saving it as a PNG instead of a html even if I change the settings.

Really Annoyed and about to remove this from my Chrome Browser. Insists on saving a page to .PNG. It did that one time. Then I opened the Options tab and changed that to Save to a Google Doc. Tried it. It worked. You'd think that would be good to go from there, right? No, of course. Every single subsequent use of the extension INSISTS on saving it to a PNG file. How Frig'n Annoying!

Couldn't get it to work at all on Microsoft Edge.

This extension should be or is already retired. When I attempt to save a page to Drive as an .HTML file, the extension just opens the "Save to Google Drive" page on the Extensions manager. It does not actually save the file, and cannot be coaxed to do so.

The Save as Google Document option (which I want to use) always gets stuck on 'Downloading'. I've cleared my cookies, uninstalled and reinstalled the extension, but it still doesnt work. The 'Save link' option just says to open the link and save it as a png. And it almost always defaults to saving as PNG files.

Does not allow saving PDF files when they are opened. When clicking on link to a PDF file shows an error "Custom scheme URI not allowed."

I have already wasted a lot of time and by reviews, I had better not waste any more.

Doesnt work. I have it installed in Comet by Perplexity, and also Google Chrome. On Google Chrome it gives an error. "Image capture failed (The extensions gallery cannot be scripted.); Image capture failed (Could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist.)"

I used to use this all the time. Using it with the Edge browser it will not work directly by choosing to save to Google Drive and choosing Print to Edge it won't show up any longer as a choice. I just spent an hour and nothing works. I also cannot get any developer information.

Doesn't work on Chrome or Edge browsers. Too bad.. I find the few recent reviews that it works hilarious and contradictory since many of the recent reviews confirmed my suspicions that this plugin no longer works.

No longer works. Your best bet may be dragging URLs into the local GD folder.

No longer saves .mhtml or .pdf files to drive. Saves .png instead.

this is the worst extension. you cannot save downloads, it only saves exactly what you are looking at as a screenshot. i want to save FROM the browser, an actual FILE/PDF/DOC. how is there not a way to save from a chrome browser to another google product?

seems to show option to save as html but that does not work. only saves as an image of the page. am i missing something or is this worthless

Almost completely useless. Only captures images. I like to have my documentation local and most devices no longer come with a manual. Also, links go dead, companies no longer any kind of support, etc. So I download the manual. I like to have it on drive so I can access it from anywhere. Back to download to downloads and then upload to drive.

It's trash... I use salesforce and reguarly download work documents. I don't want these on my pc and want these on my work g drive. If I right click + save to chrome it tries to save the URL for the document... not the actual document.

Exactly like most of the comments say and the 3.9 rating, it only takes screenshots which is useless. I want to save a page as a URL and/or as a PDF.

This extension didn't work for me. While searching for alternatives, I discovered https://scrndrive.pro/ Although it's currently in the preorder phase, I believe supporting the development of scrndrive.pro is a more promising option than continuing to use this.

Unsure how this gets a 3.9 out of 5 stars. Like many others, a website will be saved as an image rather than a pdf. The image can be incredibly long and therefore become useless.

Yet (another) disaster by Google. They should stick with Google Maps and improve that. Everything else they touch is a joke. But that's what happens when they only allow Google "insiders" test their software before making it available for the masses (official release).

This does not save URLs, it takes screenshots. How is it impossible in 2024 to save a web page to a Google Drive?? Such a basic functionality. I REALLY want to migrate out of OneDrive but without this feature, I can't.

doesn't work, at all! 80% of the time, it doesn't work. The other 20%, it doesn't save the file in the correct format or the folder. Pretty useless, do better Google. Thankfully, the other extension mentioned in the reviews here worked for me too - Save to Drive. Thanks Mitchell :)

I really expected better from Google drive's own team. This saves a PNG of text pages. You can change it to save Google doc format, after which... it saves as PNG. Or you can choose to save as HTML source, after which... it saves as PNG. Useless. How is it impossible in 2024 to save a web page to a Google Drive? C'mon, Google, you're trying to extend your tentacles into every other area of our lives, and the one time I need you to, it doesn't work?

This extension kept erroring out with an image capture error, doesn't work I found this other extension Save to Drive, that does the exact same things as this one but there are no errors... the best part is it also lets you choose the folder to save to in drive, might be helpful for folks here.

Saves to the root folder at Google Drive only. Since I have to open Google Drive to move the file after the fact, defeats the purpose.

as of 2/16/24, this extension is not working. very sad as this is a necessary tool to ingest info into Gemini. they are so focused on being the best in AI and are failing on the simplest necessities.

Wow, very sad that this isn't working anymore... I've "saved" thousands of images over the last few month, all of which showed the successful confirmation, only to find out today when ready to start working on those images for my research that the images are nowhere to be found. That's a lot of resourcing that needs to be redone from scratch. I don't like Google Photos, so looks like I'm gonna have to go old school and download to my drive.
