i don't know why i gave this extension a 2nd chance, it likes to work for a while then oe day stop loading, the only fix i've found is reinstalling, which wipes the customizations you've done

Used for a while, now it has gone back to initial settings and there is no option to log me into my account.

This extension comes with Generic Adware (malware). When I ran anti-malware, the same got detected and on cleaning from my system, this extension got corrupted. I reinstalled the extension and again ran anti-malware, it again got detected. I had this extension for sometime now and when I got to know this, I right away removed it! This is literally breach of personal space and fraud.

I used start.me daily for several years, until they abusively and persistently placed a bar at the top of the page asking me to write a review. Okay, so here's the review. This made me feel like MY page wasn't mine after all and that they can put SPAM whenever they want and know all the details of my favorite links.

Really dislike the awful privacy policy and data collection side of this extension. You can find any number of other homepages with better privacy policies. Take the time to read through the privacy policy and you too will be disappointed.

The makers of this app HATE free speech and freedom. They banned RT from the RSS feed. Cowards. This extension is a vehicle for their affiliate links that possibly have malware. When you create shortcuts, it goes through an affiliate link before going to your desired website. ex: http://media.newprogrammatic.click/

Functionally it is probably the best new tab page of all, but ... collecting my data is not acceptable! I really noticed that when I bookmarked Idealo.de. Instead of opening the URL, my ADguard DNS server blocks the website redirect.start.me/xxxidealo.dexxx Without my AD blocking DNS server, I would not have noticed it. Sorry, but redirecting my url to trackers is an absolute no-go. That this extension is downloaded by over 80k users is really scary. I hope they all deleted that too. One star is still too many!

This extension begin insert redirect link (affiliate link) to ecommerce site like Amazon, Shopee, Ablibaba, .... Sometime this redirect link break and can not move to destination. Beware!!!

This extension spies on you, spams your mail and doesn't let you delete an account.

I have over 1000 bookmarks and when imported in this app it works horribly slow. I don't recommend this.

Decent to use and offering most of the stuff that one might expect from such a plugin, but when it forced me to create an account I discharged it instantly. Disclaimer: I've started using it only because I was too lazy to write my own plugin. Now I've just got motivated to do just that.

removed by 2 different malware programs, kaperrsky , and TalkTalk supersafe. my desktop became unstable, or erratic.. it is now fine after the removal of this app, and a deep virus scan to get rid of any residue

Malware, do not install!

To Arjen Robijn... It was ALSO installed onto my browser without my content... and I'm STILL TRYING to remove it.. i've uninstalled my browser and all related files.. and when I reinstall BOOM.. there it is again... trying to send me to your login screen... While attached to my browser it does not show up in the extensions menu.. and all my efforts to remove it have gone in vain. I google your product and google said your a ADWARE TROJAN virus... you guys are hacks with invasive programming... and if its NOT you.. maybe you idiots should look into it.. and find out who IS using your program to infect people...

After removing this extension, icon still remains in browser. How to delete this icon?

This was downloaded to my Chrome without my consent, and took me an incredibly long time to remove. I had to install is again to make this comment, and I then had it installed twice onto my computer. This is in reality an adwear virus. Do not recommend in the slightest. Shady business practices are unacceptable regardless of the quality of the product (and this add-on gives no reason to install even so)

This was great until the developer decided to include malicious advertising banners within the apps start page. Great way to ruin what was an awesome page. I get popups and malicious code installation screens daily now.

it's a great concept.. and don't get me wrong: Start.me is an amazing tool. But I would rather have it as my homepage than my new tab page. The reason for this is when I open a new tab I often want to quickly type a URL and go to that webpage. For whatever reason start.me will prevent me from quickly doing this. I have to wait for start.me to load before typing the URL, otherwise I type it in, and it doesn't actually take me anywhere, it loads start.me instead. So I need to type it in again, and it was a really annoying setback in my workflow. 100% recommend start.me, just not this extension
