Equalizer for Chrome browser

For some reason at midnight, it opens a new tab by itself, and then it redirected to a spam/ad page. Was wondering why I wake up to a new gambling page in my browser. https://addonup.com/extensions/equalizer-for-chrome-browser/updated

Every time I open a new tab on YT, I must turn on again this equalizer. Again and again.

Version 3.0.3 Updated December 15, 2022 It was after this update that the reverb effects completely stopped working. Now, after all this time, I've installed it again, and nothing has changed. This used to be my favorite product.

I was clutching in Fortnite and out of nowhere a tab opened UPDATE SUCCESSFUL like bro you ruined my game I died because of you why would you randomly open a tab I don't care that it updated I'm really considering deleting this extension now.

Awful. Tried using it with Spotify and it overdrives the audio to the point where great music sounds like absolute garbage. Perhaps it can't handle lossless audio? Either way, it made the audio sound atrocious.

The Google Chrome Extension Developer Policy specifically says that it supports in-app offers, but only if they do not obstruct the use of the plugin. You can't be forcing tabs open to other offers or requiring someone to look at your offer before using some functionality of your extension. But if you want to put an ad on your plugin's control panel in a corner, while still allowing the control panel to be used, and not forcing someone to read and decide on an ad before they an continue, then that's acceptable. So, I have reported this plugin to Google Chrome Extension team.

Installs an intrusive popup tab to addonup.com. Was using for a couple years with no issue. Now you get spammed with shovelware. No thanks.

This is malware. Pops up addonup.com webpage and does more weird things at the worst possible moment. Too bad, the extension works, but its not worth it when you know it will be stealing your data too.

As stated below, this is malware. It will periodically open a tab for "addonup.com" out of nowhere. The plugin itself works, but there are plenty of non-malware alternatives. Do not install.

Overall, it does work. However, I am getting tiny little audio glitches, blips, dropouts, etc. once every few minutes. I guess it is minor enough to where most users don't even notice (or not happening to them?). But for me, this is ultimately a deal breaker, as I cannot tolerate any artifacts being introduced into the audio stream. A better solution for me was to download and install fxsound equalizer for Windows. It is a more comprehensive solution than just a browser extension. It works better, and I have not had any issues with fxsound equalizer introducing any audio artifacts or other glitches or interruptions to the music.

Norton Browser Protection says this extension is infected with cursor-helper.com with the threat name URL:Malvertising. Wish the extension owner would clean up their act.
