It has taken me 3/4 hour to try to use the translator- very frustrating

it doesnt work on 90% of the websites (publicly available)

Translation quality has been abysmal since the most recent update. There are so many instances of asterisks being added to names, punctuation marks being omitted from the original text, AND random punctuation inserted that were never present in the original text (e.g. em dashes, asterisks). Google translate is behaving like first generation Chatgpt. Please revert!

website is in japanese, sometimes it translates, sometimes not. extension unhelpfully says "translate is built into chrome" well its auto detect obviously doesnt work all the time... thats why i got the extension? what were you guys thinking? add a button to make it translate or an extension that lets you copy paste the text or translate from an image. why make this and inclued a "keep running but don't do anything" function?

It keeps me on a foreigfn language that I do not use and will not mlet me change it to English... it is totally useless.

Cant even detect the right language. i highlight Chinese but it keeps detecting as Vietnamese, so I have to manually change to chinese everytime. Very Convienient.

It actually doesn't work in Brave and Chrome anymore. It tells you "Page translation is built into Chrome.". And I re-downloaded it because built-in page translation doesn't work well on some websites and some languages.

It just gives a stupid little text box to paste stuff into, and even that doesn't seem to do anything. I wanted it to translate the web page I'm looking at.

Dear Support Team, Your translation feature is extremely unstable!! Sometimes it works properly, but other times it fails and shows "Translation failed"!! This inconsistency makes it very difficult to use the service reliably. Please look into this issue and provide a fix as soon as possible. Thank you！

This annoying disturbance around the field you try to focus on is detrimental to certain people with ADHD and other disabilities. Any new little widget thingy that pops up and disappears when you try to work should be an opt-in, not forced onto users. Shame! To get rid of it, go to Extensions, Google Translate, Extensions Options and set Pop-up translations to Don't display icon or pop-up.

This extension just stopped working all of a sudden today (21 October 2025).

Translation extension is not working today

Translation stopped working. I don't need to translate the entire page, but just a few words or a couple of sentences on the page.

This extension is broken( 1 out of 7 translation attempts via the this extension are successful. At the same time, translation on the website translate.google.com works perfectly.

The extension stopped working all of a sudden, all translation goes to "No Translation Results To..."

Can't translate whole pages. Unusable garbage. At least remove the screenshot of the feature which NO LONGER EXISTS.

It's so much harder to use now. It won't translate the full page but I have to select and wait and it might eventually show me translation on the selected text. If I have to read a full page, this is a lot of work. This plugin is no longer useful.

Extension in Chrome only translates selected words. Does not translate the entire webpage.

You can't change pronunciation in this extension. I have British by default. I need American. I can't change it 😡

Just a reminder that this extension is no longer supported by google as they move it to Chrome itself. Please like to that others are aware.

Bring back page translation? all i get is a message telling me that page translation is "built in" what is this extension even for?

since the feature where I can translate a whole page, this extension has been useless to me, built in translator is so unreliable, bring back the "translate page" button.

If somebody else missing the old whole page translate: There is a beta release of TWP translate (famous on Firefox) released on Chrome. It's open source. Search for "github Traduzir-paginas-web releases" to find the Chrome store link.

What happened?! Earlier this year you removed the page translation button because you said it was "built into Chrome" when it wasn't. Now it can't even automatically detect the language of any text I paste in; it always just defaults to English, even if the text uses a non-Latin script such as Chinese. Google, you just keep getting worse and worse by the second. I can't believe this is happening. You're dropping your carbon neutral pledge for, what, AI? That thing that can't even properly answer simple questions?

FOR MONTHS IT HAS NOT WORKED FOR MY EMPLOYERS INTRANET SHAREPOINT SITE AND OTHERS. At least in some cases, I have to use Edge. That stinks, right?

it's not working on PC even you try to change other but the extension just answer you with your question wier.

Browser dark theme issues, translator black theme with black text

The auto detect keeps thinking Japanese is Dutch and giving "Chinese New Year" as the translation.

Doesn't come close to ScTranslator.

It used to be good until they removed the page translation because "Chrome nativaly support that", which means all other browsers are screwed.

Using the Google Translate chrome extension will now redirect to the Google Translate website as of 2025.

"This extension adds a button to your browser toolbar. Click the translate icon whenever you want to translate the page you're visiting. " the one click translate function has been removed. The new way is to go to the menu each time. It is a clear downgrade of the plugin. Instant uninstall!

The Google Translate extension does not support Cantonse TTS (Text to Speech) by some strange reason? Cantonse is mainly a spoken language and it supported by Google Translate in generally, so it does not make any sense?
