Redirecting you to Google Translate is just pure lazy. I'll find a better extension that actually shows you the translation as a modal/the actual content overwritten. Disappointed.
No different from Google translate, if fact it is Google Translate under another name. Tiresomely opens another tab simply to translate a couple of words that should be done on page, as Google Translator for Firefox does.
I am on a page that has multiple foreign languages. I right click on one of the lines of foreign text and a pop-up will appear saying that the page could not be translated. This extension name is 'translate selected text'. It automatically wants to translate the whole page, but that is not what I am wanting. This extension is not useful nor helpful. I have disabled it and now leaving this review and rating of one star and when I click 'PUBLISH', my next action will be to 'REMOVE' this extension.
Awful doesn't translate selected text on page, just opens google translate
There should be an option to also copy the translation in the clipboard. Basic.
Are you guys kidding??? This app simply does a new tab command, translating selected text through google. RLY guys?
Doesn't work
awful
brokwn now. previously can distinguish Chinese(Traditional) and Chinese(simplified), now it became Chinese. As there is no selection as "Chinese" in Google Translate(only either traditional or simplified), it always makes some trouble when opening new tab for translation.
I do not need to open a new tab..
Opening a new tab is useless
Just need the translation on the page, no popup or tab. Its possible in Edge, Im sure it can be done!
Desperately needs a "translate text" option to be used in conjunction with the extension shortcuts at chrome://extensions/shortcuts, because as it stands now, you're forced to right click and scroll down to the translate option via the pop-up menu every time you want to translate something which simply isn't practical at all. With the addition I am suggesting you'd be able to translate at the press of a button. Not sure why this hasn't been added as it's an obvious improvement.
Maybe you should set the default behavior to Display the Translation in a Tooltip instead of opening a new tab. That's a much better Customer Experience solution, than "Change the options" when obviously, it's expected, not optional. Your making the error of painting your bias on your extension, instead of serving the community that supports it.
Not working in Flashpeak Slimjet browser (a 64bit Chrome-based browser), Windows 8.1, 64bit, with uptodate drivers, on a Dell XPS-15 notebook.
Only copy text to new web tab with google translator, you have to leave source web to see translation
Opening new tab, useless for me.
It was working, but from some day ago, Google Translate is showing o lot of %20 instead of spaces: "I%20think%20is%20not%20showing"
I was really in need of this program. the panel option is so helpful. Thank you so much. I really appreciate this excellent job.
banner not well
Could be better to show the translation in a tooltip or bubble...
good
Only OK! Needing to translate a selection, one should not have to waste time. Why, if Enlish, is the only language selected after editing the extension should the user have to select it again each time the translator is used?
Is there add on like gTranslate (Firefox) just right click and the words shows
