Got this working in Brave after a lot of debugging. The issue was not normal site permissions. For me, the browser relay attached fine once patched, but the side panel chat kept failing with: disconnected (1008): origin not allowed Gateway logs showed the side panel was connecting from this origin: chrome-extension://bfpnaggikhabdgbnhnngdfldkbinncdf I added that exact origin to: gateway.controlUi.allowedOrigins and it was still rejected. What finally worked was setting: "gateway": { "controlUi": { "allowedOrigins": ["*"] } } Then restarting the gateway. So this looks like an OpenClaw bug/quirk where explicit chrome-extension://... origins are not matching correctly in gateway.controlUi.allowedOrigins, even though wildcard ["*"] works. If your extension side panel says it’s disconnected and gateway logs show origin not allowed, try checking that setting.
