Ever since the update it's not been able to sync to Amazon Author Central page so basically useless.
This extension hangs. The support is non-existent. I've tried to contact them several times to no avail.
Nothing happens when I try to sync my account when I'm logged in.
Nov 2. Loaded. Tells me I have to be on Amazon Author Central, but I am already there. How do I link the two?
Great idea, but doesn't sync for me, either.
does not sync
Doesn't sync, but the icon looks cool in my toolbar.
Same story as everyone else, doesn't sync with my author.amazon.com page. Unable to locate support docs to help fix whatever's broken. Would love to use this though, please fix it!
SAME thing here.... Followed all directions and it will not SYNC to my Author Amazon account/page. HELP! I need what ReaderScout offers. Make it a paid App with SUPPORT.
Doesn't sync with my author.amazon.com page. Unable to locate support docs to help fix whatever's broken. Would love to use this though, please fix it!
Doesn't work, won't sync with my author.amazon.com page.
This extension does not provide useful information because nearly every day I get a NEW notification about one of my books that the price and rating have changed. However, they have not. At all. And, interestingly, it appears to be going down my book list in order. Odd, unless the goal of the extension is to make you click to view the ads to purchase the company's paid software, in which case, it is probably meeting the company's goals in selling you things. I already own their other software, which I do find helpful, but this extension is now gone.
Doesn't work. Have downloaded it and when I click the Sync button it does nothing. So currently it is useless.
The sync button does not do anything, I have my Amazon Author site open, not sure where to go from here. Does not work.
I just downloaded it today and it keeps going off, but if anything has changed, I can't tell. So, for me, that makes it difficult to use.
Where are the features? I see my name, my books and nothing else. Settings button goes nowhere, and what settings there are seem to be missing the ones I went looking for. Like where are the followers? If none - it should say none. Where is the version update button? So much time wasted trying to figure it out.
Downloaded as instructed, went to book on Amazon I want to monitor, instructions say click on icon, but no icon appears.
Love the idea, but the notifications are broken. I've been getting false alarms for new reviews for a while, and recently false alarms for price changes started popping up too. Wastes a lot of time, clicking on updates just to clear the NEW flags. Hoping for a fix!
I like the concept, but lately it's not updated my followers count. Also it's a bit slow to get updates, but I can live with that. Main thing I'd like to see is the ability to dismiss the 'new' alert for multiple books all at once, or all. It's annoying having to click on each one to get rid of the new Oh, also the 'new review' alert needs to be separated into : New Rating alert (new 'star' rating) and New Review alert (when someone's left a written review, not just left a star rating). So, fix those, and it will be super.
NOVEMBER, 2025 UPDATE: Giving an extra star because the extension is up and running again, able to be synced to your Author Central page. I still have the same issue with not being taken to the Writer Watch site to see my changes, but at least it's semi-functional and indicating when I have changes. ---- I used to love this extension when it was Reader Scout. It told me at a glance when there were any price changes or new reviews for my books, and it would take me to the Reader Scout site where I could see what those changes were without having to go to the Amazon page directly. After it became Writer Watch, whenever I clicked through to see what the changes were, it would lead me to the site for barely a second and then take me straight through to the Amazon page for my book. Maybe a small thing to some, but it agitated me. Why have that site if it isn't being used by the extension? I ultimately decided to remove the extension for a few months and then come back to it in the hopes things had been fixed. I reinstalled it today, went to sync my Author Central, and...nothing. The extension does not sync at all. And based on previous reviews, I'm not going to waste my time trying to contact support. I miss Reader Scout.
Just for clarification, make sure to download and use Chrome if you don't have it, I was using Edge now it is working!
Where do I get instructions about how to use this. I downloaded it... now what?
There are a few things that prevent me from rating this higher. First, I want to be able to toggle review checks off. I don't read my reviews, and don't want to get notified every time there are new ones. Second, it's kind of slow. Third, sometimes it says there's something new when there isn't any change.
I love how it works but it only tracks 5 books even though the description says it will track 50. So, the misleading there was a sore disappointment. I understand that the more books the heavier the load (and costs) and I understand wanting to keep it free. But perhaps a hybred? X number for free and ability to track more with a monthly upgrade to pay for the extra costs? I would subscribe to be able to track more than just 5 books since it has already notified me of an unusual price change for my best selling book, just saying.
Some of my books have an illustrator or foreword and instead of listing my name as the author, ReaderScout lists the secondary contributor on the page it generates. This would be far more useful if it showed the actual price and number of reviews instead of having users click a button to see the Amazon book page. The limit of five books may serve some people, but I have more than five I want to check, so not so useful.
Mine is struggling to work in Chrome. It hangs most of the time, with just a spinning circle. Once, when I closed and opened it again, it 'added the book, but not again. It's taken several hours just to add 3.
Since I don't use chrome, it doesn't play well with edge. Gets me to the google sign in which is redundant since I'm already logged in, and it stops. Clicking the button goes nowhere. I'd really like it to work, so I'm giving it three stars in hopes the problem can be fixed, and I'm not one to tank a rating because something wasn't quite right for me.
You've advertised this into the low content community. I have a small number of books for that community - just 300 - but only being able to add 5 books is a waste of time for anyone making low to mid-content books.
Not working for me -- I get a Google Sign In button that doesn't work. And I'm already signed into Google. Edit: I moved the rating up to 3 stars (considering it as neutral) until I can test the extension. I exited the browser, and when I launched it again the Google login appeared, followed by a request to give ReaderScout access permission. So I think it's probably working now. I'll test it and report back as soon as I can.
