Old Twitter Layout (2026)

Got my account permanently suspended for inauthentic behavior out of nowhere. Will change my review if the appeal gets accepted.

Was great for years - now I am perma-banned for "inauthentic behavior". So this is all I can blame it on. Especially since the Extensions had quite a lot of issues the past few weeks.

This looks really nice, but every time I try to open a tweet, it keeps saying, “SyntaxError: Failed to execute 'json' on 'Response': Unexpected end of JSON input.” If there is a solution to this, that would be nice.

Was working then all of a sudden it's now giving me an error and it's not letting twitter load, so this is getting removed immediately

New update broke this and now there is a error whenever I go to the site

Nice plugin! Disabled my ability to post due to "could not authenticate you" errors!

cant use it and getting error: There was an error in initializing security header generator: TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading '1'). OldTwitter doesn't allow unsigned requests anymore for your account security. Currently the main reason for this happening is social network tracker protection blocking the script. Try disabling such settings in your browser and extensions that do that and refresh the page.

It's currently not working for me, tweets on a new account I made last night aren't loading even with the extension enabled anymore. >"You're not following anyone so there's no tweets found! Change your timeline type to 'Algorithmical' in OldTwitter settings." >i am following 46 people.

This used to work for me a while ago, but I keep getting an error about unsigned requests not being allowed now. The message tells me that I need to disable social network tracker protection to fix this, but I have tried installing the extension in different browsers and I am not able to fix this.

UPDATE 23/03/26 Now I am 100% this extension may get you suspended I got locked, but luckily I could quickly unlock it, I don't know if it's twitter blocking extension or extension it outdated, for now don't recommend using. 22/03/26 still as of now, there is an error of "Solver Fail" appearing when opening post's page or quotes, resetting/preventing interaction as likes/bookmarks/replying. While it works for For You/Following/Notification and profiles it was constant issue for months, and I had been suspended on twitter for "inauthentic behaviors". Which mail I got when I finally got after being unsuspended mention it was for "mass liking and/or unliking" which is what is happening when "Solver Fail" appears, so in short your at risk of getting suspended when using this add-on.

The extension is not working. The profiles are not loading.

most of the time it worked great but after the site changed to x.com instead of twitter.com it broke and im forced to use elons twitter. is there an update planned to fix that and make it usable with the x.com domain or is the add on completely broken now.

stopped working, breaks twitter, dev keeps saying to update to fix but only fixed problem once and only temporary, problem persists still and disabling or removing old twitter is the only thing that fixes it i only used oldtwitter to bypass rate limit and that stopped working months ago anyway re:dev, super cool that it "works fine for you" but neither the bypass or the entire app works on my end, when i am able to fix it the fix is temporary and the only assistance ive received was you telling me on github and now here "na its fine" 4/11/24 stopped working again, same issues as before

The option to see photos only does not work.

Quite useless, layout is too small for modern screens, dark theme is ugly. IF it could return ONLY media tab to pre-Musk state...

It looked promising, but I couldn't see a way to pin my favourite lists for 1-click access, which I make extensive use of. That dropped 1 star. The other two are because every time I disable it, and when I remove it, Chrome crashed. Running latest Chrome as of today. I guess this could be related to interactions with another extension. The toolbar icon looks a bit odd from normal viewing distance. I appreciate the idea and will return for another check in a few months.

Now that Elon Musk got rid of Dim mode I thin we need an update that allows for the layout to look like the modern and fix it so that Premium users can use the extended character count. I feel like you are going to get more people using this from now on so adding the modern look is going to be essential now.

works pretty well, but recently the search function broke. It only displays 2-3 results, while searching on regular twitter shows hundreds

Needs to have a verified followers tab like X does, other than that it is okay.

Wish you can use 'Communities' with this extension.

The extension is great but I had to stop using it, my account was blocked several times due to spam and it always returned to normal when I deactivated the extension! I occasionally get this message and then they ask me to solve a captcha. "Authorization: Denied by access control: To protect our users from spam and other malicious activity, this account is temporarily locked. Please log in to https://twitter.com to unlock your account.; Missing LdapGroup(weaverbird-admins)."

I keep getting kicked out of my account (and it gets locked out and I have to pass some test to unlock it)

its great other than sometimes it just wont load twitter at all for me

I really like it, but I'd like to request a way to write threads on this. There's no way to add threaded tweets while composing a tweet on its own...
