Guys it was working wonderfully but its recently been closing tabs for no reason and now i've lost a bunch of important sites! Please please update this and fix this bug.
Great Idea. Too bad it doesn't work. Cannot find any documentation. DOesn't appear in the toolbar. Finally found the separate Spaces window. Tried to edit the name of one of the spaces. Pencil icon changes name to an input field but it disappears within 1-2 seconds and anything typed into it is ignored.
To name a window you have to click the edit name icon, quickly type a letter and hit enter. You have about a quarter of a second after entering a character to hit enter for it to take. You then have to repeat this process for each character of the name and it takes 4 to 7 attempts to enter each character. So to name a window Shopping, it takes about 40 attempts to get it done. Only good thing is I keep the same set of windows open all the time. Still haven't checked to see if this has to be done everytime Chrome is restarted.
Couldn't rename windows as every time i clicked renamed the text field was deselected. So the main feature I wanted to use this extension for didn't work.
Doesn't support separate login sessions :( Was looking for something comparable to Spaces in Firefox
Not working. I installed it in Vivaldi and all tabs appear empty after switch between spaces.
I trusted you and now lost all my tabs. It just doesnt show my spaces anymore. If you can't deliver a service properly, don't do it. Now atleast tell me does it save a config file or something in the system somewhere?
Looses tabs (add tabs to a new window, close window, space not saved, this simple!), cannot manage properly spaces (cannot delete, cannot have 2 with the same name either...), cannot create spaces by drag-drop (you have to create a new window...)
Spaces open full screen. Appears to be no way to turn this off. Ugh
It was working really great for a while although the interface wasn't the most convenient, then suddenly lost all of my spaces who knows why... very annoying.
Great idea but so poorly implemented. It just does not work. I spend time savings my spaces, then close windows and if I relaunch the browser it either looses all of them or a subset of my spaces. It would be such a good tool if it worked. I would avoid until this gets updated and works as it will just cause you pain as you have to go through your history. p.s Apologies for awarding 1 star, I know hard work goes into this but for me it is unusable (and i have given it chances on multiple occasions spanning many months) When it works 5 stars easy :-)
Doesn't recognise all tabs in a window, overview feels cluttered. Great idea, poorly implemented.
After a restart for windows update, the extension lost all saved spaces. Unreliable.
Nice idea, but riddled with bugs.
Couldn't figure out how to add a new space. No option in the button menu and no obvious option in the Spaces window. Basic functionality like that should be intuitive.
Needs some fine tuning. An annoying delay between clicking on the Spaces button and the Spaces dialog popping up.
I thought I was in love at first with this app. It's exactly what I was looking for in terms of managing different interests I have without getting chrome bogged down. Google should have made this a long time ago.. Anyway, I guess I relied on the product too much as today I just went to go to one of the "spaces" I made and low and behold there was absolutely nothing there.. All the content and tabs that I pushed to the service was gone. Nothing was saved. What a waste.. If anyone from the Spaces or Suspensionlabs team is listening is there a workaround? Is there a way to bring back my data?
I like the idea but right now it's simply unusable. You cannot manage your spaces- you can't even create a new one, no support for drag and drop. I expect an app that helps me organize my tabs to make my life simpler and this interface fails to deliver.
Tabs Group support is needed. Every time I group tabs and then I close and reopen Space, tab groups are gone :(
Extension is good when it is working But be careful. I lost all my links - hundreds of stored links - with no warning and so far no explanation from the developers.
A quite useful extension. One complaint: The app icon that appears in the Chromebook "shelf" area should not be black, because this makes it impossible to see against the black background.
It's pretty useful, but I really wish I could tell which "space" I'm looking at without having to click anything.
Why so many good extensions have been abandoned ?
Good , but needs more features: 1 Click Save-All (without overwrite warning)
How do I add new space. There is any button todo it in my manage windows
great idea but needs some polishing. looks like this project may have been abandoned by the developer as it hasn't been updated since may 2015.
Very buggy, but I will probably continue to use it, because it is the only plugin that does what I need. Bugs that bother me the most: doesn't switch spaces correctly when in fullscreen mode on Mac OS, and when renaming a space the edit box constantly loses focus so it is hard to type anything into it.
An interesting concept, but needs further development. Seems odd to me that I can't actually drag and drop tabs into spaces under "manage spaces". I have to open the windows to actually move a tab from a window to another.
I was very excited until I got to my office the morning and found it doesnt have sync :( An app that is designed to simulate and separate workspaces, should actually work across workspaces.
The extension is great, but Quick Switch Spaces is not working on Ubuntu 14.04, Chrome 49.
need more features, like drag drop the link between spaces
I like the idea, but it is unusable in Ubuntu. The shortcut ctrl+shift+S is unusable: it shows some empty window (probably) called "quick switch spaces" for a fraction of second. Choosing "Quick switch spaces" from menu has the same effect.
I like Spaces a lot, combined with other extensions, its very powerful. It would be nice to be able to share a space through a link with other people.
Good start. Need to be able to share spaces with other devices (at least through Google Drive or Dropbox), and manage already created spaces.
Good idea, but not clear management inside spaces. It will be more convenient to use drug&drop for move tabs between spaces.
It's a decent start, but severely lacking in the features a user is looking for when adding an extension for tab management. It does look clean though. Add: tab freezing, adding notes to tabs, ability to move tabs around, creating new windows, grouping sections of spaces, etc. Or, just go get Tabs Outliner.
Nice extension but I should be able to create a new space and open an existing space directly from the extension icon in the Chrome toolbar. I don't mind the separate spaces window but it shouldn't be the only option for managing spaces.
I like the concept, but it's pretty much non-functional until the Settings gear (as shown in the screenshot) appears in the actual extension, so that new spaces can be created.
