Description

Beep for Google Docs is a voice commenting and feedback tool for Google Docs. You can comment on Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Google Forms with your voice. You never have to leave Google Docs to record or listen to voice notes as everything is integrated into Docs. Why audio comments? Giving feedback can be challenging. You have to capture all your thoughts but also convey them in a tone that's constructive and positive. This is a lot harder to do if you're just trying to type comments. With voice, you can more quickly convey what you want to get across and make sure the tone is positive and clear. How it works? 1. Install the extension above. 2. Visit Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, or Google Forms. 3. Add a comment and click "voice comment" to record. That’s all it takes. A link will be inserted into the comment and that link will be auto-magically converted into an embedded player for anyone who has the extension installed. So you can listen to all the comments without leaving Google docs! *New Feature* Automatically expire voice comments to auto-delete after a certain length of time. Who’s it for? Collaborative Teams Great teams know the value of feedback. With Beep you can leave comments with a positive, constructive tone and make your team feel more connected. Editors Reading manuscripts or article drafts can be exhausting. With voice memos, you can convey more, faster. Professors Grading papers and providing feedback can take a serious amount of time. Beep saves you time by allowing you to voice your feedback and allows you to have a more personal connection with your students. ***Disclaimer*** This app is not affiliated with or officially endorsed by Google or Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, or Forms in any way

I am enjoying using this to add voice notes on my google documents. I am using it to provide brief pronunciation guides throughout a document. Though it has made life much much easier than uploading separate voice notes onto google drive and linking them individually into a document, improvements could be had if (1) I am able to keep the widget open after I insert every small voice comment so that I can continue making annotations without going to the top of the screen to click on the Beep icon again (2) I can quickly delete a voicenote that I want while the widget is still open after I listen to it and decide that I want to re-record. 5 stars if these could be addressed

Just starting out. Hopefully it will work for my students. Lot on the line if it doesn't.

loved it.... def helped with editing... but it's a bit annoying to have to copy n paste to insert the link... instead of it just automatically being inserted

I have only toyed around with this extension for a few minutes now, but I have used voice recognition in various formats for over 20 years. This one is fairly accurate (I don't have a fancy headset microphone or anything I'm just speaking to my laptop). FEATURE REQUESTS: 1) Record and preserve the entire audio file -- in segments or in whole -- such that the user can use a transcription app and play back the audio. 2) Make it so **both the audio AND the raw text** are available for download to the user, ideally synchronized, improving both the skills of the speaker and the dataset of the voice patterns. 3) Again, while I haven't tested every angle of punctuation, etc., it would be nice to have varying modes of command vs dictation (similar to Dragon). I've been using Dragon since the product came out, best command ever? "Resume with...." A for instance: An instant correction without even breaking pace might be "Resume with.. using Dragon since Nuance acquired it." The RESUME WITH command seems to be BY FAR the easiest way to make corrections on the fly. No "select last sentence .. "select last five words .. advance four words forward, etc." Feel free to contact me directly, I'd love to pitch in on the project. I don't want anything in return just to see Voice Rec done right. (also if you would like me to revise my review to not mention competing products by name, I can certainly do so) thanks for your hard work! ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
