GitHub Prompter

This extension allows you to easily copy files Markdown format from GitHub repositories. It works by calling the Github API to get the file contents. Because of Github API rate limits, only 60 files can be copied per hour. To increase the limit to 5000 files per hour, the extension allows you enter a Github Personal Access Token (PAT) in the options page. The token is stored securely in your browser's local storage and is never transmitted anywhere except directly to GitHub's API. For working with public repositories, you can create a token with no permissions at all. If you need to access private repositories, you'll only need to grant the token repository 'read' access. Detailed instructions on how to generate the token can be found in the extension's option page.
